  • Music and STEM: Music of the Future! part 2

    Funded Dec 20, 2024

Thank you for your kind donation to Music and STEM: Music of the Future! part 2. In this project, you have helped purchase a class set of microbits for a middle school general music classroom. These are now being used by students as they learn about elements of music such as dynamics, tempo, form, and instrumentation!

  • Music and STEM: Music of the Future! Part 1

    Funded Dec 20, 2024

Thank you for your kind donation to "Music and STEM: Music of the Future! Part 1" Your generous donation has purchased a class set of microbits for a middle school general music classroom. Students have started use the microbits to learn about STEM and music at the same time.

When students are coding with the microbits, they are learning elements of music such as instrumentation, tempo, or dynamics. The students attend a STEM focused school so it is exciting to be able to incorporate STEM into an arts focused class.

Thank you again for your kind donation, students will continue to use the microbits throughout the year to study musical elements and to better understand STEM concepts.”

  • Middle School Mosaics!

    Funded Sep 4, 2024

Thank you for your kind donation to "Middle School Mosaics!" Sixth grade students have used the mosaic supplies during advisory to design and create mosaics using the materials obtained from the proposal. Students are now creating individual mosaics of flowers, turtles, fish and other designs. They have planned the color of the mosaics and have selected tiles. They are in the process of cutting glass and gluing the glass onto the mosaics to create the desired pattern. Students are close to finishing gluing on tiles, and will begin adding grout to the project in a few weeks, completing the projects.

Your donation is especially appreciated as it allows students to express their creativity and individuality through this project. Students attend a school where there is no visual arts teacher so this project provides an opportunity for students to explore one form of visual arts. Thank you for your generosity to Chicago students!”

  • A Breath of Fresh Air

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

Thank you for your generous donation of an air purifier! This thoughtful gift will have a profound impact on the health and well-being of our students in my classroom, which unfortunately has windows that cannot be opened.

Poor indoor air quality can contribute to a variety of health issues, including headaches, and respiratory problems. During times of health concerns like COVID-19, air purifiers can help to reduce the spread of airborne illnesses. By providing a cleaner and healthier environment, your donation will enable my students to focus and learn more effectively.
