My 20 first graders are the hardest working group I've ever had! These kids want a better life than their parents had, and they don't let anything - language differences, poverty, or family situations - stop them. Our state's current fiscal crisis has stripped our school of any extra money for classroom supplies. Our school isn't able to provide the basics, like copy paper and glue sticks.
