My mixed grade level class of Kindergarten and First Grade students come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds. They enthusiastically perform their assigned class jobs and take turns answering my lesson questions. They are at an age in which they naturally love to learn and excitedly participate. Our school is labeled a Title 1 school and was established 13 years ago in Arizona. There is a high percentage of single parent, English as a Second Language and homeless families. Many parents have not completed Secondary School making it a challenge for them to help their children. Teachers must provide all the support and resources in order for the students to progress. Students love our class because they know it is the one environment they can come to that is consistent, accepting, and encouraging.
