Utensils to Change the World!
Funded Dec 3, 2024Thank you so much for contributing to our creative Math and Science classroom. We use the markers and expos on the daily. We are creating beautiful posters to display our work, using colorful vocabulary and as always marking up the whiteboard.
With 100 different students coming through my classroom we go through pencils and markers like crazy. With the support from donors like you, we are able to keep up with the high demands of basic supplies. Students are able to work with their groups and create problem solving posters that ultimately lead to their mastery of skills. It's the everyday tasks that make us better. And when we have fresh new supplies students feel the love and want to do better.

Winter is Coming!
Funded Nov 20, 2023We didn't have a terrible winter in Chicago, however we were indoors for a couple weeks and lately some rain. My students loved the games that came. The chess tournaments happening across the classrooms got very competitive. Some students who never played were able to learn from the more novice players. Headbands also created alot of competitive screams. The kids always fought over who got to play and they always needed to stand up to get the full effect. The games were a perfect distraction to not getting to go outside. We can't thank you enough for supporting our classroom and bringing in some fresh sets of games- with all the pieces!

A Stylish Stylist
Funded Mar 15, 2021Thank you so much for the stylist pen. I cannot tell you how valuable it isn't display information. My students are able to quickly see the notes and I able to color and highlight wherever I choose. The impact has been tremendous to our vocabulary and quick notes.

Funded Sep 21, 2020I apologize for the delay in this humongous thank you. I have drafted the letter a few times and I'm struggling to express my gratitude for the MacBook as it has been a tool that has brought remote teaching to a whole different level.
I teach 7th grade math, and we have been remote since last March. Since receiving this gift it has enhanced our virtual
Classroom. I'm able to see my entire Meet in complete colorful video and audio. Student's faces are clear and bright. I am able to transition from the Meet to shared documents and other tabs with ease.

Funded May 18, 2020I am a veteran teacher, but new to this remote learning. I cannot tell you enough how much the iPad and IPad Pen has changed my remote teaching from the spring. It's been amazing.
My students have booklets at home and I have the booklets downloaded to the iPad. I am able to write in the pdf; that includes highlighting vocabulary, explaining problems in colors and writing notes all
over. The students are able to see all of my notes when I share the screen of the iPad. It's amazing.
This gift has helped all of our learners. Students ask to re-do a problem or go back to one we did the day before. The iPad is able to save all of the changes that the Apple pen creates. The pen brings life to the notes that wouldn't have been possible before. Thank you for bringing us to the 21st Century.”

Funded Dec 4, 2019Thank you so much for the toner. We use a copy machine in our 7th and 8th grade wing that is responsible for over 300 students.
We use this machine to make copies everyday that assist us with making graphic organizers, task cards, note taking and so much more.
Although all of our students benefit from the toner; the group of learners that benefit the most are our diverse learners and English as a Second language learners. We are so proud of our partnership with Donors Choose and are grateful for donors like you.”

Funded Jun 14, 2019We want to thank you for being a part of our exciting math classroom. The ink you so graciously donated helps us out tremendously.
We have a huge population of diverse learners and middle school kids who need to have access to different ways to learn concepts. The main thing we print out is graphic organizers to help with notes, concepts and vocabulary. My students love to get up and work with other peers. We make math fun by tying in games like Bingo, scavenger hunts and other task cards. With the ink I am able to make as many copies as necessary, it's great!”
