Dry Erasing Our Way to Great Writing!
Funded Nov 28, 2017Dear Donors,
The new whiteboards have already made a big impact on my students learning! It has become one of their favorite things to do at center time. When they have free time they love to take the boards and write the room. When they write the room they are practicing their letter formation while writing their sight words and sentences. The girls love to get in a big circle and play teacher and tell each other words to write. We use the boards every day at whole group. We practice sounding out words while they write the word on their board. Their writing has improved significantly. The boards have made writing fun! Thank you for your donation that made all of this possible!”

For the Love of Science, Writing, and Kindergarten!
Funded Feb 27, 2015I wanted to take the time and let you know how your support has helped the kids in my class. They were so ecstatic when the boxes arrived! When I started pulling the supplies out to show them they were jumping up and down like it was Christmas morning. They were asking me so many questions about who got all this stuff for them and why. I explained that people from all over the United States saw our project page and wanted to help make our classroom better for them. I think this part of the experience was my favorite. They were able to see that other people care for them and their learning success.
I think they were most excited about the magnets. The old ones I had bought at a garage sale were falling apart but they were still their favorite science center to go to. Now, they build the coolest structures using the new magnets. I love to hear them explain their creations to their friends and myself. With the blank books they have created some amazing and detailed stories to share with their classmates and previous pre-k classrooms. They have asked to work on their books everyday. The roll of crate paper is so handy! They use as much as they want and lately have been creating books and manufacturing paper ceiling fans for our ceiling. They are able to be so inventive with the right supplies.
We use the calendar math every morning and I have to say, this is my favorite supply! We spend 20 minutes just on the calendar alone. Since we have received the calendar we have been able to practice hundreds, tens, and ones to the point that they have got the concept down solid. They also love the estimation jar that came with the calendar. They get so excited to see if they came close to the correct number. They are estimation stars now!
Without your generous and thoughtful donations all of this and so much more would not of been possible. I want to say thank you again from the bottom of my heart. My kiddos mean the world to me and by you helping them it makes my world that much brighter.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Vinson
