I think that education is at a crossroads right now with regards to technology. On one hand, schools are supposed to teach kids how to use the highest level of technology in order to create high-level projects. On the other hand, schools really don't train their teachers nor provide them with supplies that can do high-level activities; instead, they give teachers the cheapest computers that can't do much. In my classroom, I try to have the students integrate technology to create projects and foster a more positive learning experience. I wish to also create the items that my students create, as I would like to demo the types of programs and products that are available out there to my students that do not know how to do much on their computers. I have always done drawings, advertisements, and other things created by hand, so I now would like to figure out how to make my projects technologically viable for the upcoming workplace. The students and staff are assigned Chromebooks; however, they do not have any storage, which means were are limited to google apps. We cannot download photoshop or any programs that require storage onto our chromebooks. This limits the quality of presentations that can be created and doesn't show the students the level of excellence that can be created with real computers.
