Dear Diary...
Funded Feb 21, 2023Thank you so very much for helping to support our classroom. My students absolutely love these new resources and couldn't wait to get started using them.
During our test prep for our ELA State Test, we used these in stations to break up the routine work of test prep. They loved being able to write freely with their Paragraph of the Day book and they also loved the reading comprehension books.
Some of our students are even taking home the comprehension workbooks to help with their skills at home!
Again, thank you so much for supporting our classroom. You have no idea how much you impacted these scholars lives. You let them know that people all over, care about them and their education.”

Funded Apr 28, 2021The amount of gratitude we have for the wonderful donations is immeasurable. Your generosity has shown my students, as well as myself, that there are amazing people in this world who want to share in the future of our kids.
During this pandemic, teachers have had to come up with new and imaginative ways to reach students, through a screen. Read Alouds and new books that cover diverse topics and include characters from all walks of life, did just that. My students could not wait to see what new book we had to listen to every morning. The conversations that came from the books were outstanding. It allowed the students to learn from each other and from the book.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have no idea how blessed you made my students and I feel.”

Funded Aug 13, 2020This pandemic has completely turned everything we knew about education and school, upside down. Our students have been thrust into a new "normal" that is anything but normal. As their teacher, my job is to not only teach my scholars and engage them in fun learning opportunities, but to also reassure them that they are safe when they come to school.
It has been quite the challenge to do all of that, through a screen, but your donations have helped a ton! Every morning, we start the day with a morning meeting and a read aloud. The children come bounding into our meeting every day with the biggest smiles, ready to read a new and exciting book. What is even better, is that these books all have at least one character that they each can relate to. Whether it is their special holiday, the beautiful color of their skin, their culture, and more. These students get to see themselves in these amazing books. They love each read aloud and cannot wait to hear the next one and the next one.
Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, for bringing a smile to these children's faces. They will forever know how lucky they are, even during this pandemic.”

Funded Jun 22, 2020This pandemic has completely turned everything we knew about education and school, upside down.
The students loved getting their care packages the first day of school with their bags of goodies. They couldn't wait to see their journals, markers, pencil cases, and books. The smile on their faces, even behind a mask, was something that could not be beat! We use the journals and workbooks as extra practice and they always beg to do work in it! They love it!
Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, for bringing a smile to these children's faces. They will forever know how lucky they are, even during this pandemic.”

Funded Mar 9, 2016Thank you all so much for supporting not only my classroom, but the future scholars of America! My students mean so much to me. It is a joy to be able to speak for them and submit a project on their behalf.
If it weren't for donors like you, this project may not have reached my classroom. Thank you for supporting the education of my beautiful class as well as my future students.
My students were so excited for the shipment, and as soon as we opened the boxes, they couldn't wait to get their hands on the new materials. It has been such a pleasure to see the joy in their eyes.
So, thank you again from the bottom of my heart.”

Readers and Scholars and Thinkers, Oh My!
Funded Oct 10, 2015Thank you all so much for your most generous donations toward the project for my students. The look on their faces when the delivery showed up at our door was priceless. They were so excited to get their new soft seats out and choose which colors they wanted. They couldn't wait to dig in to the new leveled library books. One of my students even took the book so close to her face and smelled the pages. She said that the new book smell is one of her favorite scents.
Having new leveled books for our library is such an extraordinary event to happen. The books reach to all levels and my students have their pick of so many different genres and categories. The sparkle in their eye during independent reading time is one of the reasons why I love my job so much. They beg to just take their seat pillow and plop down with a good book. They frown when the bell rings and it is time to stop reading. That is the true joy of teaching. Seeing my students excited to use all the new knowledge they gain in class and transfer it to their reading, is truly encouraging and makes my soul happy.
So, again, thank you from the bottom of my heart and from my scholars. We are so blessed to know that there are people who support our love of learning, both near and far. We hope you find happiness in knowing you made 27 boys and girls extremely happy and hopeful that the world is full of wonderful people like yourself.”

Sometimes its the Simple Things that Make the Difference
Funded May 6, 2014I cannot thank you enough for donating these amazing and awesome products to my classroom! My students were so excited when the boxes were being delivered to our room. They had no idea that I put in a project for Donor's Choose. So, when it was fully funded and I told them the great news, they were ecstatic! I had student's high five-ing each other, hugging each other and giving me hugs. They were so grateful. They couldn't wait to dive in and start using everything.
The first thing we set up was the chair socks. They LOVED these. I can't tell you how "cool" my kids thought they were and started moving the chairs just to show that they silenced the noises. When I gave them the seat cushions and the blue chair organizers, they went crazy. We are now the coolest classroom EVER! Now, when we sit together on the floor, all of the students have a comfy seat to sit on and know exactly where to sit. They actually want to sit on the floor instead of their chairs! Then, they opened up all of the Junie B. Jones and Read Along Books. There were enough for all the students to read with a buddy. Silence fell upon my classroom and they were so engaged in the books. They didn't want to do anything else. Also, the sharpener and 10-drawer organizer made things so much simpler in our classroom also.
My students were always engaged in learning and getting involved. Now that they have these resources, there is less comments about the cold floor to sit on, the slow sharpener, their messy desks, etc. They no longer have to worry about their desk getting full with books, they now have a chair organizer. They don't have to worry about their awesome outfit getting dirty, they have a clean seat to sit on the floor with. The students in this school are the best in the world and being able to give them cool and educational resources, books and products is the most amazing feeling. Thank you all again for being such wonderful people. You remind us that there are outstanding people in the world and that we are all in this together.”
