  • We Need Coffee!

    Funded Mar 17, 2021

We just received the Keurig coffee machine and we all were so excited. I am even trying to convince my principal to allow us to begin the program now! This delivery gave us the boost we need to be reminded that pretty soon, we will be able to begin our "cafe" program where our students will run it and improve their social skills, math skills, and learn proper work etiquette. The Academy of Learners, which is our Special Education program, thanks you for helping us start this for the students and staff! This is all so exciting for everyone. We really do appreciate what you have done for us!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Vitulli

  • Help Me With Remote Learning With a Laptop

    Funded Jul 30, 2020

The donations you have given us helped us out so much in the classrooms and at home. We are trying to get on a schedule but during this time it's nearly impossible. Switching from remote to hybrid, back to remote for a week, then back to hybrid can make anyone lose their mind. However, with your donation we are keeping students and teachers on track with the minute by minute changes. We are all going through this together and it is nice to know with generous people like you, we will get through it ! Thank you again.”

  • Laptop and Headphones.

    Funded Jul 24, 2020

When I originally wrote my project back in July, I felt as if I had no idea what tomorrow would bring. Once I received the materials, I was able to introduce myself to new programs and a whole new virtual experience. Your donation allowed me to get off on the right foot for this interesting school year. I was prepared and ready because of the materials I was able to use donated by you. Now, we are sharing the materials with other faculty members and even students! The headphones gave me and now our students a quiet learning environment, where we could focus on the lesson at hand.

Thank you so much for your continued support.”

  • Sugar And More!

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thanks to you we have so much!!! We cannot wait to get our cafe up and running. It is going to take time and a lot of changes will have to be made but thanks to you and your over the top donations, we have everything we could possibly need. The training the special education students will be getting from this program is going to be so important for their everyday lives both in and out of school. The lessons and skills they will learn will be used in their lives forever. We sincerely appreciate what you did for us and what you continue to do for our students. Thank you.”

  • Learning With Tea And Toast

    Funded May 7, 2020

As you can see everything is organized and ready to go!!! As soon as our students are welcomed back into the building and we receive the green light the cafe will be up and running. The group of students who were set to run the new idea may not be able to jump into the project immediately but we are already thinking of ways that this specific population of students can organize and prepare for the tart of the program. It will take time for every one to get used to this new way, but together we will and we are already prepared to begin wonderful projects for our students because of your donations!”

  • Feed Our Children – From Farm To Classroom

    Funded Feb 16, 2017

Thank you to all who helped my children. The students are blissfully digging in the dirt, planting, watering, and patiently waiting for their seeds to grow. They are charting, documenting, and monitoring the progress of their toil. Please know that this is all possible because of your generosity. Opportunities like this are special and mean more to my students than words could ever convey. The students are actively engaged in the project and most importantly, they are outside interacting with one another. Thank you, I will never be able to express my gratitude.”

  • The Wanderers' Wardrobe

    Funded Oct 18, 2015

Thank you so much for your generous donation. People don't realize that schools are much more than places where children go to learn. They are places where children go to feel safe, wanted, and cared for. With your help, we were able to provide a place for students to go and select items that meet basic needs. When a child puts on a warm coat or pair of boots, his or her attitude changes; he or she becomes more confident. After all my years of teaching, I have come to learn that things we consider insignificant can actually be the things that change lives. Thank you once again for supporting this worthwhile cause and giving my students a sense of worth.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Vitulli

My students come from a varied background. Some are first generation immigrants who are here trying to achieve the "American Dream," while others are victims of poverty. My students are hard workers, who despite their circumstances, which include what some may consider tragic, find the strength to work toward overcoming obstacles and hope to achieve greatness. The city from which we come is very diverse; our school is located in a middle-class neighborhood, however, a large majority of our students do not come from the immediate area. They are bused in from poorer areas of the city, group homes, and shelters. We've become their family, we are, for some, their lifeline. We teach them responsibility for themselves and install values that can be shared with others. As a research room teacher, I work with the same group of students for their four years in high school. For many, I am more than a teacher, I am the one they turn to when faced with concerns, fears, and need.
