  • Math and Literature Connection

    Funded Jan 23, 2023

We have had so much fun exploring with our hands-on items that we have received for our classroom. I look forward to sharing all of the books and showing the students how Math and Literature go together to make the concepts come alive for them. I love how they can see the connections-especially how they can relate to pizza being cut into fractions. Your generosity has helped me be able to help all of my learners understand Math concepts better. We will be able to use the supplies for several years to come.”

    Mrs. Long

  • Sensory Learning

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

It is really great to see our supplies being put to good use. The students have been working on using the sensory items as tools. They are able to sit for longer periods of time and focus on their learning. I also find that it helps to keep them calm to have something to run between their fingers when a problem might be more challenging. I am eager to see the carry over this will have on their test taking skills as well. We appreciate your support so very much. These items will be used with many classes to come.”

  • Math is Fun!

    Funded Jul 12, 2022

Watching a classroom of students come alive with their learning is such a huge reward for the teacher. By allowing me to put physical items in their hands, they are engaged and excited to experiment and learn. They are making connections of how Math is used in their everyday lives. We truly appreciate your kindness in making this donation to our classroom. These materials will be able to be used for several years to come. Please know that you have made a difference in the learning capabilities of my students.”

  • Math Manipulatives

    Funded Dec 9, 2021

Thank you so much for the Math manipulatives that you helped our classroom get. We are learning so much more about our Math topics when we have these fun new tools to explore with. The students are eager to check the patterns to see if they match their chosen answers. The self-checking colorful tiles make checking our work fast and easy so we can make changes if needed. It is so beneficial to have materials in their hands that make their learning come to life. We are so thankful for your help in making this happen!”

  • Strong Readers for Life

    Funded Aug 27, 2021

Talk about fun! The Versa Tiles have allowed students to be able to try to understand comprehension of reading passages in a fun and new way. Once students answer the questions, they check their tiles to see if their pattern matches the answer key. The colored tiles make it easy for self-checking their work and quickly fixing any errors they have. They are excited to come up and show me if their pattern matches, and they make sure they let me know if they got it on the first try or not. These tiles have made hands-on learning of reading concepts very fun for my students.”

  • Hearing with Headphones

    Funded May 14, 2021

We can't thank you enough for the headphones. They were put to good use on Day 1. With keeping things sanitary, it was important for each student to be able to have their own pair of headphones to use. Many students do not bring the needed supplies to school. It was so nice for them to not be embarrassed by that because I had plenty to hand out. This is a gift that will keep on giving all year as we use many learning programs that have the option of text being read to the student, and we also watch learning videos throughout the school year. The colors of the headphones were fun and attractive to all students. Thank you for supporting my learners.”

  • Food for Thought

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

Taking the time to give my students a snack each day, has increased their energy and focus. Allowing them to have a snack encourages their concentation and has reenergizes tired students. My students are at school for four hours before lunch, so the snacks have allowed them to perform better on their work, and not worry about their hungry bellies. They are so excited each day to see what the new snack will be. We have discussions about their likes and dislikes, and I encourage them to try new foods they may not have tried before. Your generosity has allowed me to see my students be able to focus on learning again since several of them leave the house without breakfast. Thank you so much.”

  • Celebrating Diversity

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

Learning about diversity in the classroom has allowed students to appreciate and consider different perspectives and draw better conclusions. This helped the students to better interact with their peers on a social level, and hopefully it has equipped them with skills they'll use for the rest of their lives. We continued our studies by doing Christmas Around the World. Each student researched a country and learned about Christmas customs and traditions of their chosen country. We had a great time. Thank you so much for supporting the learning of my students.”

  • Coding and Programming

    Funded Jun 23, 2020

We have had so much fun learning how to code by using our coding critters. I have heard the children say, "What if we try this?"

You have created an opportunity for me to watch the kids problem solve as they learn. They are laughing at the Little Critter story books, and they are excited to see if: two pushes forward, one push left, and one push forward, will get the critter to go to where it needs to end up. You have made learning come alive in our classroom, and we are so thankful for that!”

  • I Still Care About Your Learning

    Funded May 29, 2020

It is an odd predicament that we are in. I tried to think of a way to brighten my students mood, and continue their learning when we were mandated to go virtual. With your generous donations, I created learning packets.

The students were so happy to receive materials they could have fun with, and learn with, from home. The tornado kits were a huge hit! The journals gave them a place to write down their feelings while they were at home learning. They also got so much faster at knowing math facts too.

When I walked up to their doors, they were so excited and had big smiles on their faces. I will never forget how happy they were to receive these materials while they were at home. Thank you so very much for helping me make this happen!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Long

I have a classroom of 21 diverse students in a low socioeconomic city. The students are eager to learn and they really love hearing about Science. The students seem to become more involved in the topics that we are studying if they can have something in front of them to look at. They seem to learn better and connect to the topics when they are more involved in the lessons.
