Cooking Up Some Skills
Funded Nov 26, 2024The new kitchen toys are a huge hit!! Their eyes lit up when they came in and saw all the new toys. The kids love playing with the pizza oven and ice cream set and serving their friends all sorts of new creations. I hear them asking questions and making choices, which are both goals that we are working on, this just makes it so much easier and more exciting. They way they ask their friends if they want a cappuccino is heart melting!! They cooperative play and language skills that I have been seeing is amazing. Thank you so much for supporting this and making all of this possible.”

Ground My Body So My Mind Can Soar
Funded Jan 20, 2022Thank you so much for you generosity and support. It is because of you that teachers everywhere can continue to do what we feel is necessary and developmentally appropriate despite the resources we are given. It is nice to be appreciated. Your financial support will help many children not only this year but for many years to come.”

May I Have Your Attention Please!
Funded Apr 30, 2021We are now into our third month of the new school year and I can not believe how useful the cube chairs have been.
I received these chairs with only a couple of weeks left of the the last school year and it was a difficult transition. However starting this year with the chairs already in place has been so amazing.
These chairs give my students a space of their own while being supported by the structure and and frame of the chair.
The circle time area is now more defined and their role there is implied. Even for those who need to move, they are give the freedom to sit in front of the chair while keeping their space. I am so very grateful for your support ❤️”

Funded Feb 4, 2021The resources from this project have been incredibly helpful with all of my students. Talking about the stories, manipulating the puzzles and practicing these feelings and emotions has really brought conversations and discussions out to be explored and understood.
I just read that when we talk about our feelings we are moving them from the amygdala to prefrontal cortex allowing us to use logic and reasoning to deal with them instead of instinct.
These new resources are allowing me to do this with my students.
Thank you so very much.”

Funded Jul 26, 2020The addition of my listening center this year has given me the amazing ability to share more book time with my students. Research has proven time and time again that exposing children to rich language and increased story time has a direct impact on their own language development and their cognitive processing. I can not thank you enough for helping me support them with this extremely powerful learning opportunity. The possibilities I now have available to me because of this new listening center are endless.”

Building Their Future: Open-Ended Play With Blocks and Manipulatives
Funded Jan 25, 2020I can not thank you enough for the support you have showed throughout this process. I am so fortunate to be surounded by people who know what it takes to support young children and their development. Working with children is my passion, helping them and teaching them is like watching magic happen but it wouldn't be possible without the help of all of you. You have showed that you care and that you want to be part of a community that puts the appropriate development of young children as a top priority. It is for this that I thank you and appreciate your support.”

Supporting the Education of Young Children: Connecting Practice, Policy, Research
Funded Mar 15, 2019This was an amazing experience not just for everything that I learned from the presentations and resources that I accumulated but by the team building that I was able to do within my own team and with others.
I was able to see many different sessions and even those that overlapped, my colleagues and I were able to meet later in the day and go over the details of everything we saw and learned.
Some of the most important things I took away from the conferences were strategies on working with strong personalities in the classroom and out. And how to have productive and effective meetings with these people. I also got some amazing ideas on how to effectively teach math at this level and what is types of concepts are required to know before you are able to teach the next. I was able to talk with early childhood educators from all over the state and share stories and ideas with them.
I think the highlight for me came from a keynote speaker who, whether it was his goal or not, really shook the norms of appropriateness in the classroom with some off the wall ideas. And finally I was asked to look at what my fundamental reason for teaching really is. It was amazing!!! Thank you so much for your support.”

Baby, It's Cold Outside! Gross Motor in the Classroom.
Funded Feb 11, 2018Words can not express my gratitude for all that this project was able to offer my students. They are now able to use and practice these gross motor skills each and every day. This school year I have created a center focusing on gross motor and the equipment that was supplied in this package has made all the difference.
Research has shown that kids need to be more active and school tends to be very sedentary, even if they are playing they aren't using these gross motor muscles like they should. Being able to have a center each day which engages my students in a more rigorous way with higher intensity activities has made a big difference on their concentration and ability to learn.
These new tools and equipment are a sure favorite when it's time for centers and they are growing everyday in their balance and coordination. They don't even realizing that they are learning, they just love it. Thank you again for all of your kindness and generosity.”
