Let Me Tell You A Story!
Funded Feb 5, 2015I just want to take a moment to THANK YOU for your kind and generous support of my very special students. Your gift allowed for the purchase of several storytelling 'kits' that we use to tell and retell several favorite stories including Pete the Cat (two titles), Elmer and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.
The students are SO EXCITED when we are able to use these to introduce the story and especially when they get to use them during stations to retell (using familiar words and phrases). It warms my heart to hear children singing...'I'm ROCKIN' in my school shoes' while placing the different destinations at school on the flannel boards.
Often as children begin to learn a second language, they are reluctant and/or shy to speak up and produce their own words. But these story telling props allow them to practice their English with words they've heard during story time. The retellings are filled with confidence and laughter. And you made that happen. Many blessing to you.”
With gratitude,

Funded Aug 24, 2014WOW, how can I fully share with you the impact your gift has made on my class? As the student number continues to increase, the flexible space made from the cube chairs has been invaluable. We use them for many different activities, including working at our magnet station (as a chair and a table) for various independent writing activities, personal iPad space and who knows what else we'll discover?
The balance balls have been great for a select few students that really need a way/place to release excess energy while trying to focus on tasks. As usual, learning how to properly use the balance ball is a learning curve :-)
I am continually amazed that the generosity of my friends, family and public at large to deeply care for the future of the world...which is our children. All our children, despite where they come from or their economic standing. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!”
With gratitude,

Funded Nov 6, 2013I want to take this opportunity to personally thank you for your kind and generous contribution to my classroom and more importantly, to my students' writing journey. We LOVE our Royal Writing Center/Cart.
The students look forward to taking their turn to write their contribution to our daily message at the Royal Writing Cart. This lovely, functional piece of equipment has encouraged the desire to write; not only at the the writing cart, but throughout the day, in all areas-Math, Science, Social Studies, and even during our 'purposeful play' time!
We use our Royal Writing Cart EVERY DAY and my students have grown from just learning about letters and sounds to several of them writing actual sentences, conveying their likes and dislikes, their imaginations and adventures.
Your gift is impacting deserving students now and will continue for many years to come. Blessings to each of you.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Shackelford
