Help! The Pencil Sharpener Is All Worn Out!
Funded Jan 6, 2008I cannot thank you enough for funding the proposal for a new heavy-duty pencil sharpener for my kindergarten classroom. The sharpener will save a great deal of time that is now wasted looking for usable pencils and attempting to sharpen pencils using a defective sharpener. At present I spend time every day sharpening enough pencils to last the students a whole day, and now that time can be invested in preparing better lessons for my class. Your gift will help to focus students' attention on the learning process rather than on finding decent tools. Your generosity is so very appreciated”

Drying Rack For Gooey, Gluey Projects
Funded Dec 7, 2005Thank you so much for funding the drying rack for my kindergarten class! The time and effort we will save using the drying rack will make it possible for my students to spend more time on projects that are not only educational, but fun--such as making picture dictionaries, cutting and pasting rhyming words together, putting words together into sentences and illustrating the sentences. By filling this need, you will make my classroom a friendlier and more functional place. I am sure my students will love both the rack and the mats that will allow them to store their projects independently. Thanks so very much”

Books and Classroom Supplies for Hurricane Katrina Victims
Funded Sep 13, 2005I cannot thank you enough for your generosity in allowing my kindergarten class to send classroom supplies to victims of Hurricane Katrina. My class has 24 brand new students just beginning to understand what school is all about. The natural tendency of many kindergarten kids is to think only of things they want and need. There can be no lesson more important for these little ones than a lesson in compassion. You are providing the means that will allow the students to think of others who need their help. In giving my students a chance to help hurricane victims, you grant them the wonderful experience of giving help that really matters. Your gift will give them a lesson no words of mine could provide. Many thanks for your generosity to my class and to the victims of the hurricane”

Help! The Pencil Sharpener Broke Again!
Funded Sep 1, 2005Thank you so much for funding the pencil sharpener for my kindergarten class! With school just a few days away, I have been setting up my classroom and thinking how wonderful it would be to have that pencil sharpener from the start. Now I will not have to sharpen dozens of pencils before school each day. I can spend that time preparing more creative, interesting lessons for my students. And the class will not have to endure days without a decent pencil to use because the sharpener just broke. You cannot know how grateful I am that there are people like you, people who care so much that they are willing to spend their own money to improve education for children they have never met. Many, many thanks”

Homes for Our Books
Funded Jul 19, 2005I cannot thank you enough for your decision to provide homes for my kindergarten students' books. I can't wait to tell my new class that a person they have never met wanted them to read so much, and thought their books were so important, that the person gave their money to help us start our adventure in reading. Since kindergartners love to have anything that belongs to them, the idea that these beautiful, sturdy magazine files will be theirs for the whole school year is sure to thrill them and make them eager to select "their" books to fill the files. I am very moved by your decision to help my class in this significant and lasting way. Many, many thanks”
