Any teacher can go on and on about their students - there is no exception here. My students are passionate, curious and starting to really shape their own opinions and beliefs as they study the past and look towards the future. My 10th grade students come from all backgrounds and walks of life but they are all dedicated to advancing themselves. Within the classroom I have IEP, ELL, lowest third, at grade level and advanced students. Even though all are at different levels coming into the class, it is my job and goal to get them on equal ground by the time they walk out in June. The school's primary focus area is Social Studies and so we are able to really delve deep into the content over the four years of high school. In order to keep it fresh, we have to provide activities for all of our different learners that will keep them engaged and motivated as we go through the material. By the time they walk out in June, they have become just as invested in history as we are.
