We have partnered with Operation Classroom to take a contingency of students from Laguna Creek High School to Sierra Leone, West Africa in Nov. 2013. While there, the students will install in selected high schools the micro solar power plants they have built, assist in areas of vocational training and microeconomic development, and perform an assessment of future needs that they will respond to upon return to the U.S. We are calling this program USA4AFRICA and hope that this pilot program will be the first of many that inspire other American students to reach out to other African countries. Before we take our trip in November, it is our intent to work with our contacts here in California with the First Nations Indian Tribal leaders. There are third world conditions right here in our backyard, and we have the opportunity implement and "practice" our vision this summer before the Sierra Leone Trip in the fall.
