Stage Make Up for Drama Students!
Funded Mar 11, 2017Thank you donors for being so generous! My students and I were running low on Theatre makeup and really needed some for our production of Beauty and the Beast. It turned out wonderfully, especially with some of these very animated characters.
When my students saw the new Theatre makeup they were so excited to read what each item was and my technical theatre students were excited to start designing and applying their ideas on the actors.
I am the Theatre teacher at my school and these supplies will be used several more times over the years in future productions. These are great elements of Theatre and it creates a much more exciting experience for the students. Thank you so much!”

Junior High Students Lighting Up The Stage!
Funded Feb 22, 2017Thank you so much for supporting Mt. Nebo Jr. High School Theatre program by providing these resources to our students. We've worked very hard for the past 11 years to create a beautiful black box theatre but haven't had our own lights for the space until now. We've had to rent lights, but to have our own now is a wonderful opportunity for learning for our stage crew students as well as making our actors look wonderful, whenever they are performing for a class or play. We used some of these lights on our production of LION KING; LAUGHING STOCK; and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST JR. And they added so much to the magic of the productions.
My students, especially my stage crew kids, and the lighting crew especially freaked out with joy opening the boxes and pulling out every part of the lights sent to us. Our own lights!!! Setting them up and being able to have ownership in the space was thrilling. The actors looked better on stage and the shows looked amazing!
These lights will be used year after year for further class plays, projects and performances enhancing the quality of student performance work. Every year our junior high school has two to three full length productions using these lights as well as class plays and skits the students will use the lights for.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Wells Fargo, Utah and 5 other donors.Muslin and Fabric
Funded Feb 11, 2013What a wonderful experience it was for my students to see the huge roll of muslin fabric when it arrived. They were so excited and thrilled because they've been talking about being able to create their own backdrops for our school plays for a long time. We've been re-using old backdrops and random pieces of cardboard for a long time, and to see these materials at our school brought smiles to everyone.
So, this year my stage crew students have been planning our first shows which include two children's theatre musicals: Friendly Persuasion and Jack and the Beanstalk. The students have been cutting out the backdrop and designing the show backdrops.
This really has helped me in the teaching aspect in being able to provide supplies appropriate to what the students are learning. This makes the learning process of scenic design very enjoyable for the students and for me, the teacher.”
