In the theatre classroom, it is imperative that students have access to supplies, which will provide them a strong foundation for developing characters in performances, as well as a solid background in how to develop strong design skills for theatrical productions. Students at my school have gone far too long without a true theatre program and these supplies will go a long way in helping us begin to rebuild the program from the ground up. Make-up supplies allow students the ability to learn how to apply make-up specifically for stage productions. Plays allow students foundational skills in how to read plays, analyze plays, and begin the design and character development process for stage productions. Scene and monologue books give students a chance to work on the acting skills through a variety of materials. These supplies are just the first step, but they are an important beginning in order to help my students and myself achieve our theatre dreams.
