  • Let's Get Ready to Publish!

    Funded Feb 17, 2025

On behalf of my students, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude for your thoughtful donation. My students struggle to produce in writing, so I have to be creative and find ways to incentivize them. Now, after the revision and editing process, they will look forward to publishing their work for others to read.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Flores

  • Sports for All - Information is Key!

    Funded Jan 31, 2025

My students and I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to you for your generous donation. This printer will be used as soon as we get it!! My students will be thrilled to publish fliers to get all ESOL students involved in extra-curricular activities, not only sports, but also clubs where they can explore all their talents.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Flores

  • During and After School: Time to Relax

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

Thank you so mcuh for your generosity! With your donations I was able to buy t-shitrts for students/ club members. In addition, they can enjoy some snacks after school during our meetings.

They come more energized and ready to engage in learning and interaction with languages, which is what they enjoy. Last month they learned Italian from one of our exchange students who is from Milan. This month of October we will start with French taught by another club member who is from Haiti.

Students have fun learning conversation topics, games, and vocabulary activites. Thank you for making this possible!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Flores

  • Computer Access for STEM Projects

    Funded May 14, 2024

On behalf of my students, I want to thank you for your generous donation. This school year is specially challenging because we are having large numbers of newcomers who are in dire need of financial help. Some cannot afford to have a phone. This laptop represents several of these students having access to technology in the classroom.

With an extra laptop, students can access their online resources and collaborate to complete STEM projects. This month, my Juniors are researching and leaarning about the beginning of our nation. They are looking for information to complete a timeline of events and present it in groups. Another activity require for them (especially newcomers) to become familiar with the USA states. There are sites that facilitate the learning of our political map. They are having fun along the way!

Again, thank you for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Flores

  • Flexible Seating, Great Reward System

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity! This VIP Desk was a great success. My students awarded this incentive were thrilled to have this special desk that rewards their efforts to become the students with great scores in the class. Now, a healthy competitive spirit has come afloat, where students are trying hard to improve their grades and get the VIP desk.

Because there are so many opportunities to improve grades, students are now more eager to get closer and closer to surpass peers and get the reward. I hope to add another desk in the future to accomodate 2 VIP desks instead of one.

Again, thank you for your generous donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Flores

  • Technology Access in the Classroom

    Funded May 3, 2022

My students and I want to thank you for your generosity. The laptop you helped us purchase has been key to fill in the technology gap we have in our school.

Because our school does not have enough to provide a laptop to each student, this one was used to give indicidual students or pairs of students immediate online access. Most of the time, my students (seniors) have a phone they can use. However, at times, I get students whose phones do not have enough data to access some school content. The laptop purchased helped those students not fall behind on the work.

Thanks to your generosity, all students (including newcomers who did not even have a phone) were able to access content necessary to complete mostly written tasks. We appreciate your kindness.”

  • World Languages Fun!

    Funded Jan 26, 2022

On behalf of my club members, I want to extend their gratitude for your generosity.

Thanks to your donations, we acquired these beautiful World Languages Club shirts. This is the first time that the club was able to afford the long-sleeve type. That was great! My students designed the shirt themselves and really loved wearing them.

We enjoyed snacks during international film and karaoke sessions :) and were more enthusiastic about getting together and completing many activities for the club. We sang songs in different languages while preparing posters to cheer our school teams while joking around and eating delicious snacks. We had a blast!

Your acts of kindness made a great impact.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Flores

This classroom project was brought to life by Emerson Collective.
This project will provide incentives for students to interact with other students who share their same interests. They will engage in communal fun activities that will help them unwind and forget about the problems and difficulties they face. In addition, during the tutoring sessions, students will learn and improve their communication skills while teaching struggling students who need assistance in reading and those whose first language is not English. Students will feel identified with the club and their peers using their club shirts during school-wide activities and club socials. By participating in club activities, at-risk students are encouraged to stay in school, while improving their communication skills in a relaxing and socially healthy environment. Club officers improve their leadership skills as they interact with other club leaders and help the school community become more integrated.
