My students are children who crave learning and get so excited when presented with adventure. I teach Kindergarten and my goal is to make sure that my students become obsessed with the possibility that they are in control of their destiny. I teach at a Title One school that is located in our Nation's Capital and is oftentimes forgotten. My school is surrounded by poverty and a community that is in need. My building is older but charming, and is filled with students who come to school each day eager to escape their lives, even if it's just for a couple hours. School has become a place that allows our students to literally leave their worries at the door, and step into a place that is determined to teach and matriculate our students successfully.
