Funded Feb 26, 2022This school year was really hard. Yes, academically many of the students struggled, but the social emotional state of our students was very difficult to monitor. Some students didn't have a problem sharing their feelings to their peers, but there were a good number of children who did - and it was challenging to know how they felt.
Well, with intentional lessons and this wonderful journal about self-love, my students were able to open up and feel comfortable and safe, talking/identifying/learning how to do things like standing up for themselves, learning from their mistakes and how to respect themselves.
Students had time of reflection and opportunities to share their entries, too. They looked forward to writing and expressing themselves weekly and wanted to do it every day. It was a great feeling to see how these topics helped these seniors become better versions of themselves!”
