  • Social Emotional Holiday Gifts for Urban Preschoolers

    The holiday gifts for the students have truly lifted the students and their families' spirit during this terrible pandemic. The resources are helping the students social-emotionally as well as academically. Some items were meant to bring comfort and other items were meant to provide access to academic supplies to be used at home.

    The social-emotional impact was not just based on what they receive, but also on the quantity of items they got from you. For them, the holidays had truly become a season of hope and giving.

  • Pre-K Virtual Learning Communication

    The wireless headphone has been a tremendous help in the world of virtual teaching. It has helped facilitate instruction in terms of moving around while in the classroom and for the students to experience a more active environment (music and movement, and gross motor activities).

    The headphones allows the students to consistently hear me with clarity while teaching regardless of far I stand in front of the camera, which provide for a better learning experience.

    Students appreciate how much clearer they can hear even when I have to have my mask on while in the classroom.”

  • Building Character and Mindfulness Through Video Making

    Funded Dec 10, 2019

    The technology we received has been used in many ways to support our character education and social emotional initiative. Digital media has been a big part of the new generation of students, and the implementation in the classroom and in school is just an extension of their experience at home. The main difference is the focus of the technology is in supporting education with students as being the main subjects aligned with the content aligned with character education and social emotional learning.

    The new products bring much excitement regarding the capabilities of creating media and content that we would not otherwise be able to. With the advancement of technology, we are able to keep up with the demand for faster, more efficient, and more productive projects.

    Students are especially loving the end product of our projects and they are always excited to see themselves contributing to our school community in a meaningful way.”

Our inner city preschoolers comes from a very diverse ethnic background, ranging from age 3 to 5. Often they are from immigrant parents who may not speak English as their native language and yet they still thrive in our school environment. Our students love to learn and explore new experiences every day. Their success is based on the quality and quantity of learning activities we provide for them. They love learning and they learn fast. The more knowledge we feed them, the hungrier they get.

About my class
