  • Learning and Teaching in a Digital Time

    Thank you so much for the computer you have donated. We have used the computer for virtual teaching and learning as well as integrating it with the other projects that were donated. We have used the laptop with our cricut machine to make personalized mugs for the students. The computer has also been used to share the photos we have taken of the students' experience in school since we opened for in-person learning. We will continue to appreciate the donation, and we will be ready for virtual instruction if necessary next school year.”

  • Digital Camera for Digital Learning

    Thank you so much for the opportunity you have given us. This time around we have been using the camera to report on our Bonsai Project approach (the bonsai trees were also a donation we received) and the students are excited to learn and share their experience with their parents. We have also used the camera to share with the parents the different project we have worked on in the classroom including chicken egg hatching and Social Emotional Learning day. We will continue to use the camera to report on experiences and integrate it as part of our teaching learning experience whether it is in person or virtual. Thank you again for the donation.”

  • Developing SEL Through Bonsai

    We are so grateful for the experience our students are having with our bonsai project. They are very excited and so eager to learn about our little trees and how to care for them. They have already learned so much in a very short amount of time and they are looking forward to taking some cuttings home to take care of them. More importantly they are learning how to be patient and enjoying nature.

    There is still much to learn and explore but the art of bonsai is offering them an outlet to let everything else go and fully focus on the present time.”

  • Developing SEL Through Personalization

    This project has allowed our students to take home some wonderful personalized items during this winter break. They were so happy to see their names on the mugs they took home. The parents were also very grateful for such a thoughtful and individualized gift to their children.

    This is just the beginning of many more activities the students will get to enjoy this school year. This projects allows our students to reflect on themselves and find ways to express their thoughts and feelings by creating and designing.

Often they are from immigrant parents who may not speak English as their native language and yet they still thrive in our school environment. Our students love to learn and explore new experiences every day. Their success is based on the quality and quantity of learning activities we provide for them. They love learning and they learn fast. The more knowledge we feed them, the hungrier they get.

About my class

Our inner city preschoolers comes from a very diverse ethnic background, ranging from age 3 to 5. Often they are from immigrant parents who may not speak English as their native language and yet they still thrive in our school environment. Our students love to learn and explore new experiences every day. Their success is based on the quality and quantity of learning activities we provide for them.
