Life Skills Cooking Class, An Adventure in Food.

Thank you for allowing my students the opportunity to build on their cooking skills in the classroom. The new mixer has made it much easier for many of my students to access the curriculum. With so many motor challenges that they face on a daily basis for writing, tying their shoes, walking, and other issues, not having to mix by hand has helped many of the students. They are gaining proficiency with their measuring abilities, reading for recipes, following written instructions, and the process of cooking. The more we cook, we have tried to incorporate the use of the mixer. We have made many desserts in the class for treats and fundraising. We have made bread, that we used to feed the bus drivers and our principal and vice principal with lasagna. They all loved the food the students made. We appreciate everything this has done for our class.”
