I teach in a Title I district in Georgia. We also have a high transitory population due to the adjacent military base. Many of our students come to class with little or no basic supplies for school let alone being able to purchase the specialty items that are needed for a Geometry class such as compasses and protractors. Most of our students are strong visual/kinesthetic learners and need the hands on approach created by using geometric solids, drawing on graph paper, etc.
