  • Tutorials, Assignments and Tests! Oh, My!

    Once again you came through and funded my project. I am beyond great full. I have been able to do a lot of projects in my class.

    Recently, we went to the renaissance Fair. As a follow up activity, I had students create a ppt using a template through google drive. It was great. The kids without devices were able to rotate through the computers in my classroom in 2 days (45 minutes each day) to complete the ppts. Without the extra laptops it would have taken 5 days to rotate through all the kids.

    This may not seem like a lot but this is just 1 activity in 1 class. We were able to move on to the next topic in record time.

    In math, I my class has scored 97%-100% completion on all of our required online math programs.

    In Science, we have visited the International Space Station during our unit on space exploration. The kids were blown away.

    You have given us mobility. We can take the laptops anywhere and because of this there is no limit to what we can do.”

  • The World in the Palm of Our Hands

    I am so pleased to announce that the tablets YOU purchased for my classroom are 100% up and running. We have downloaded many apps for instruction such as iStations, Thinkthroughmath, Pearson, and Stemscopes. These resources allow students to be taught on the specific level they are on. So while my highest reader may be reading on a seventh grade level, and my lowest reader on a second, they are both learning the concept to their level of understanding. These programs personally adapt to the user. It is truly amazing.

    Although academics is our focus we have also downloaded apps for pleasure such as, Epic!, and several hyperlinks to brain games. Epic! fosters a love of reading in my students. they are able to read many popular books that are not readily available to them. My students have also fallen in love with the brain games applications. They don't even realize they are learning strategies, history, and math.

    Once again I am truly grateful for the monetary donation you gave to help my students be successful.”

They are also a very diverse group. I have 11 ethnic groups and 6 religions in just my class. My campus has often been referred to as a campus where you really can feel the love. My school is a title 1 school and 71% of our kiddos qualify for free lunch.

About my class
