Educational Posters to Stimulate Visual Learners and Enhance Learning
Funded Sep 11, 2022I wish you could have seen the reaction of my students when they arrived in class to find our walls and reading corner transformed! The educational posters you donated to my classroom have brightened our space and are already stimulating the 7th graders' interest in our social studies curriculum. By hanging the laminated maps and informational posters at their eye level, I can encourage the students to consult the sources during discussions, partner work and whenever they become curious.
The posters are well-designed and well made teaching tools. I'm confident they'll continue to liven up our classroom environment and appeal to our visual learners for years to come. Thank you for supporting our classroom and making a difference that we will continue to appreciate and use.”

Energetic Learners Need to Wiggle Into Their Work
Funded Dec 11, 2021Sixteen boxes of wiggle stools arrived in my classroom last week. It is always so exciting when new materials show up in our classroom, but they usually only fill a couple of boxes at a time. The students were totally amazed to see the delivery crew bring in box after box. I took one look at their faces and knew we needed to drop everything and jump into unpacking the boxes together.
When Jaiden pulled a wiggle stool out of the first box and the students realized what was in the boxes, there was a huge wave of excitement. We already have a few of the active stools in our classroom, and they are in high demand. The students realized we were about to have plenty of this popular seating option, and they tore into the boxes.
It is only our third day with the new seating option, and they are such a welcomed addition. They allow so much flexibility, because they are easy to move around the room. In our humanities classroom, we are always grouping up for projects, book clubs, and lessons and the stools eliminate the need to drag the heavy school chairs to the meeting spot.
The stools are also truly delivering on the wiggles! Middle schoolers need to move their bodies and many of the students become fidgety after too much sitting. The stools are such a positive outlet for all of that energy. At any given time, a number of students are gently swaying or rocking. Harriet observed that the wiggle stools make it appear that we are holding class on a cruise ship!”

Hurricane Sandy Relief: We Need a Sturdy Table!
Funded Apr 9, 2013I am extremely grateful to each of you for your generous donation to my classroom. My students immediately gravitated towards the beautiful, hardwood table that will now serve as a permanent gathering place for the essential reading instruction that takes place every day in our 8th grade classroom.
My co-teacher and I have a class of 32 students, and we highly value the kind of small group opportunities that allow us to see students as individuals and assess their skills up close. We now have two sturdy tables in our classroom, something that will allow both of us to meet comfortably with our small groups at the same time. We will no longer waste instructional time moving furniture around when we call groups. We will no longer be asking 13 year old students to sit on the floor, because we are short a table.
Thank your supporting our classroom, our students, and our teaching and learning. You are making a difference!”

Hurricane Sandy Relief: A Beautiful Reading Table!
Funded Jan 22, 2013Your gift has made a noticeable difference in my classroom. This well crafted reading table is now our favorite place to read and discuss literature. It has taken the place of a grouping of shaky, worn out desks that were uncomfortable for many of these growing children. Many of my students have commented on how well made and "important" the table looks in our classroom; they feel more respected, as learners, when the classroom furniture is new and thoughtfully designed.
This is has been a difficult year for my students, many of whom were severely impacted by Hurricane Sandy. My students and I are all in agreement that this beautiful, wooden table is already a lovely oasis of learning in our classroom.
Thank you for your generosity and for making a difference in our teaching and learning.”

Funded Dec 26, 2012I am writing to express my immense gratitude for your generous donation to my students and our classroom. The beautiful, scholarly table arrived last week, and it is already the centerpiece of our classroom. My students noticed this new piece of furniture immediately and nearly all had the same question: "When will I have a chance to work at that table?"
We have a rotation in place, so that all of the students have a chance, each week, to work in small groups at the table. As I suspected, they sit a little straighter and focus a little more deeply and push themselves a little harder, when they work at this lovely table.
Thank you for helping to bring a little more dignity into the lives and learning of these adolescents.”
