My first graders attend a Title 1 school in Georgia. Most students are from low income families. Many lack the literacy skills needed to be successful readers when they come to my classroom. However, my students always get excited about learning to read. They are determined to practice their newly learned reading skills but it becomes very noisy and disruptive in the classroom. I love to see them excited about reading. However, there are times that I need for them to read quietly while I am working with small groups of children. They forget that they need to read quietly. These phones will make it easy for the students to read quietly without disturbing others in the classroom.
