Funded Nov 18, 2024On behalf of the Kindergarten class at Morningside Elementary, I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation. The materials provided through your donation have already made a remarkable impact on my students' learning experiences.
The excitement and enthusiasm from the children when they received these materials were truly unforgettable. With your donation, they now have access to a variety of resources that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and, most importantly, independence. In particular, the math storage and bins have been incredibly helpful. The students are now able to easily find the necessary tools they need as we work through math lessons. This organization has made a world of difference, allowing them to focus more on their learning without the frustration of searching for materials.
Additionally, during our STEAM time at the end of the day, the students are able to tap into their creativity and challenge the skills they've previously learned. With these materials, they have become more confident and independent in exploring new concepts and applying their knowledge in innovative ways.
Your contribution has not only supported our classroom but has also helped create a nurturing environment where each child can thrive. Funded Oct 17, 2018My heart is full of joy and gratitude for your kind donation. I'm so grateful for your generous donation and the impact its made for my students. My class has been ecstatic with the new items for our classroom and I see them eager to come to class. The classroom furniture that was received has helped my students feel a sense of home away from home.
I love hearing my students feel comfortable in the classroom. The furniture received has made a great impact in our classroom! My students enjoy browsing at books now because they have comfortable seating to help make them feel at home. In fact, my students even use the flexible seat cushions as a place to rest. The listening center couch has provided an exciting experience for listening to books on audio and the wobble stools have provided focus to their learning during small group work.
Lastly, my students are very grateful for the opportunity to have flexible seating in the classroom. They are excited to come to school on a daily basis and look forward to using the seating everyday. The flexible seating has not only provided my students with the opportunity to find new seating but also comfort, warmth, excitement and attention to their learning. I have several students who need flexible seating to help them focus on their learning and the donation has brought that and more! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

Funded Oct 5, 2017We are humbled and honored you chose our project and that you are a part of supporting my students. We are in disbelief that someone would generously support our classroom. It is great people and organizations such as Chevron that provide teachers and students with the opportunities to fulfill classroom goals. We cannot say thank you enough for your support in helping our classroom.
After returning to school from a one week fall break, we were surprised with boxes filled with the items from our project request. As soon as I opened the boxes, I jumped up with joy and couldn't wait to show my students. My students were ecstatic, and in-awe of the generous donations. The "surprise" as my students mentioned is a great deal for a five-year old Kindergartener. We immediately put the resources to use. We have used the Amazon Echo or "Alexa" as the students name her, and has become a part of our our daily question of the day guru, schedule keeper, and an overall question seeker. Our camera is used by the students as they take pictures of each other and share the success in the classroom, the mobile library serves as our go-to spot for our favorite stories to read, and the small easel has become a place for student learning for building words.
Moreover, my students are grateful for all the resources given to our classroom. They will continue to use the resources to support their learning. We are thankful to DonorsChoose and Chevron for the resources that will continue to support student growth in learning. My students are appreciative of the resources and have enjoyed using them on a daily basis. I see them eager to come to school and use the resources as well as share their learning with their peers. My students come to school proud to enter K2 because they have "cool technology" and can find their favorite books with their mobile library. I have seen improvement in their learning. They have become confident in asking questions and speaking in front of the classroom. They look for special moments to take pictures of one another and building words has become easier. Overall, I've seen my students happy in our classroom. It is a great feeling to see my students enjoy school and learning.”

Growing Up in the 21st Century
Funded Oct 10, 2014My heart is filled with gratitude and joy at the generosity of your company. Seeing the smiles on my students' face give me the passion to teach young minds and help create interest and motivation as they begin their journey in education.
I can't express enough the joy my students have in receiving the resources. My students were in awe and shouted with excitement knowing that they would be able to use the resources in the classroom. They couldn't understand why they were privileged to receive resources for the classroom. As my students put it, "the nice people" believe in them and want to help.
During the past few months, we've been using the resources to support the learning of the students. The students have been using the CD listening center, using a classroom player to increase the student's phonics skills. The students are always eager to visit the listening center. The headphones and iPods have been used to implement listening skills, learn concepts about print, following along the text as they listen to an audio of a story of choice. The iPods are one of the student's favorites of the resources received. Not only are the students exposed to stories on audio but are also using the iPad to reinforce skills learned such as learning to blend words together, reading and for math concepts.
In addition, the resources have been used greatly by all in the classroom and will continue to be enjoyed by the students. When receiving the resources, I knew my students would greatly be engaged in learning and help increase their skills in reading and math. We've been thrilled to have the resources and has also given me confidence in my teaching. We're excited to use all resources on a daily basis including the name tags, iPods, iPad, headphones and phonics skills center. Thank you for your support! Our classroom appreciates all the 'nice' people, as my students stated to Chevron for believing in young minds and helping to support their learning.”

Exploring In Kindergarten
Funded Oct 4, 2013I cannot express the gratitude my students and I feel for the generous donations. My students were thrilled, yet dumbfounded to know that people have a noble heart to donate resources to their classroom from a small town. My students exclaimed, "I will get smarter and will learn all my letters and sounds" as we unwrapped the whiteboards from its package. My heart skipped a beat to see the light in my students' eyes as we opened all the packages. I enjoyed seeing my students await for all the resources donated.
As we opened the packages, I envisioned what the resources would be used for. We immediately began to use the new shiny whiteboards to write the lowercase letters. We have been using our whiteboards on a daily basis. My students enjoy using the boards to write their letters, create consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words such as cat, bag, big, fan, ran, etc., write numbers, and create 10 frames for math. I allow my students to use the whiteboards many times throughout the day. The jumbo punctuation marks have set a high standard for my students as we learn how to write informative text. In addition to the punctuation marks and whiteboards, we use the centers chart on a daily basis to remind all of us of what each student needs to do. It is a great visual aid not only for my students but for any adult staff, parent volunteer or myself to redirect students to the correct center. As seen in the pictures, we've been using the partition boards when we do small group testing. It is a relief as I test my students, because they are no longer tempted to look over their partner's shoulder and take a peek at the paper. With the partition boards, or as my students call them "cheater folders" we've learned to be respectful of one another as we are testing and focus on their own paper. All of the resources donated have been put to great use by everyone in the classroom.
Moreover, all the resources that were donated have boosted my teaching and my students' learning. I feel empowered as we use our resources and feel as if my students are engaged in my Common Core lessons. I've seen my students motivated to learn because they use the special resources that are making them "smarter." All of my students are eager to learn. They are truly grateful for their materials and treat each resource with care. They've shown a positive increase in their behavior, their engagement, and in their learning due to having the right "tools" to help them be prepared for the next grade level. Overall, thank you for your generous donation. I have seen a sparkle in my students' learning as we utilize all the resources. Thank you for believing in them.”
