  • Virtual Reality for Autistic Students

    Funded Nov 5, 2024

Thank you for funding our project. It has really opened a whole new world for my autistic students. They are able to interact with places and things that they would not usually have access to. The headsets gives my students the opportunity to explore and learn in a way that would otherwise be impossible. The virtual reality headsets also help my students with sensory overload by providing a calm and distraction-free environment. This helps promote their learning. It is great to see my students using this resource in the classroom. Thank you for your support and generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. M.

  • Alexa Tell Me a Story

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

Thank you for this resource. We enjoy our classroom echo dot. It is very useful for listening to videos such as stories being read aloud, songs, weather, and timers. The children like to interact with it daily. Many of my students love books but they can't read them. The echo dot solves this problem and gives them endless enjoyment with their favorite books, stories, and songs. Our favorite part is how interactive this resource is. It's accessible to everyone who comes into contact with it. Thank you for supporting my classroom, my students, and their learning. We appreciate your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

  • Assisting 3K With Technology

    Funded Dec 6, 2022

Thank you for your donation. My students are so excited about this new addition to our classroom. They use the iPad to improve vocabulary, experience the world beyond the classroom, solve problems, and learn literacy and math skills. We used the iPad to watch videos about taking care of the environment and virtual field trips to places such as the farm.

Students enjoy seeing pictures and videos of their work in action. They have fun recording themselves as they talk about their artwork or the activities they are engaged in during center time. Interactive websites and games help my students learn to solve problems as they work their way through the challenges presented to get to the next level.

The iPad also supports the development of fine motor skills. Students interact with the iPad by pressing buttons and letters on the screen, and dragging and swiping items on the iPad to improve their precision and dexterity. Overall, the iPad has been a welcome addition to the classroom. We look forward to many more hours of fun and learning. Thank you for helping to bring this added resource to our classroom. We appreciate your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. M.

  • Educating the Mind and the Heart

    Funded Sep 9, 2022

Thank you for your support. These books expose my students to many different ideas and topics related to social emotional learning. They get to learn about themselves, others, and the world around them. The books make the topics we discuss everyday come alive.

My students are readers even though they are only three years old. They learn prereading skills everyday just by being exposed to books. They enjoy looking at the illustrations, "reading" the words, and making connections. They look forward to listening to the stories too. The books open the world to them.

Thank you for making a difference. We appreciate your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. M.

  • Outdoor Social-Emotional Development

    Funded Sep 9, 2022

Thank you for your generosity. Your donations gave my students the outdoor play equipment they need to enjoy outdoor, gross motor play. No longer do they have to play indoors everyday. Your support has helped to give them equipment that they can enjoy outdoors. The equipment encourages creativity and critical thinking while improving motor development and lowering obesity rates. The outdoor equipment has also helped my students communicate with others, improve peer-to-peer relationships, foster independence, and build resilience. Thank you again for your supporting our project. We couldn't do it without you! Thank you.”

Hello Potential Donor! Thank you for reviewing my welcome message. I am an elementary education teacher of twenty first graders in a public school in the South Bronx. My students are of African-American and Hispanic descent with 99% of them receiving free or reduced school meals. Our school is located in a high poverty, industrial neighborhood surrounded by factories and nonstop high traffic. The majority of my students live in overcrowded housing projects and many others live in temporary housing shelters. Nevertheless, they are excited about learning and they come to school every day with hope, expectation and enthusiasm. Your donation truly makes a difference. Thank you for your support!
