Autism: A Safe Sensory Swing System
Funded May 25, 2019This project has made such a great difference in our school. Throughout the summer and with the start of the new school year, we have seen the positive impact these resources have had on all of our students, from the youngest to the oldest. Your generous donation has made it possible to provide a safe and comfortable area for our special needs children.
Everyone who walks into our therapy room loves the swing area now. With the addition of these new resources, we can now fully utilize the swing equipment we already had but were not able to sufficiently use. We can now easily raise and lower the various swing attachments to meet the needs of even our smallest child, while providing adequate padding around and below the swing. The mats are now large enough to allow for floor activities when the swing is not in use.
Our next steps will include improving other areas of the therapy room that will add function and fun within the school setting.
With the fulfillment of this project, you have created a safe space for our students to enjoy for many, many years to come. Thank you so much! We could not have done it without you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Arty

Funded May 3, 2019Thank you so much for funding this project! It has made a world of a difference for my students along with the other children in the school. All of the items that were received are already in use on a daily basis.
The floor mat was a crucial addition to our sensory area, providing safe padding for the floor. The tunnel and body ball are favorites for the children that have sensory processing needs. Although I was unable to get the bean bag seating, the replacement "Wobble Chair" is really great! My students, even the fidgety ones, enjoy sitting on it while working on their prewriting skills.
Thank you!!”

Funded Jan 26, 2018Thank you so much for funding this project, "Meet Our Sensory Needs...Please!" My students were so excited to see and use the materials. The seat cushions and wedges have been great in the classrooms and during therapy sessions. The students are able to better focus during class instruction and remain seated for longer periods of time without getting out of their seats every few minutes. It's wonderful to finally have a T-stool to work on balance and trunk control. The self-opening loop scissors have been so helpful in the classrooms when it comes to working on scissor skills and fine motor control. For some children, this was the first time they have been able to independently use scissors. It's amazing the difference a few simple items can make in the lives of so many children. Thank you so much for making all of this possible.”

Funded Dec 3, 2014Thank you so much for funding our project! My students all love working with the Play-Doh and tools. They are developing their fine motor skills even as they are having fun.
My students enjoy manipulating the Play-Doh through squeezing, rolling, pressing, and pinching. The children are encouraged to use both hands during tasks, especially with the many hand tools and molds that are included in the sets. My students can be creative even as they work with various shapes, numbers, and letters.
Again, we are so grateful to all of you who have made this possible through your generous donation.”

Funded May 6, 2014Thank you so much for donating to this project! My students were very excited to use the iPad. I was excited that they were using the iPad to improve their fine motor, visual motor, and visual perceptual skills.
Having an iPad has made learning fun through the use of games and other educational apps. My students were able to work on tasks such as letter and number recognition, matching, tracing, writing, spelling, and memory. Games that involved tapping, pinching, and writing has also helped to enhance graphomotor skills.
An iPad has made a huge difference in the lives of my students, allowing them access to technology which has brought them to a new level in learning. It has added support to what is already being done at home, in therapy, and throughout their school day.”

Better Seating Please!
Funded Apr 10, 2013I would like to express my deepest gratitude to you all for donating to my project, "Better Seating Please!" The items purchased from your donations have had an immediate impact on my students, providing seating support and helping to improve their posture and level of comfort while seated. The students enjoy sitting on the air cushions and wedges during tabletop activities and they appear more focused and less fidgety while working. The footrests are great for proper positioning and the ball chair is just fantastic!
Without your help, my students would not have had this opportunity. Your generous contributions have made such a difference in their lives already. Thank you so much!!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Arty
