  • Autism: ADL Help Please!!

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

Thank you for contributing to this project! During this past year of remote and blended learning, teletherapy, and the transition back to in-person learning, I have had to be very creative in addressing the school-based needs of my students during our OT sessions.

But right from the start, it was evident that my students were also struggling at home with activities of daily living (ADLs). In addition to the academic, behavior, and attention concerns, parents were mentioning difficulties their child was having in various areas, such as sleeping, brushing their teeth, or eating with utensils.

As students started coming back to school in-person, they went back to reviewing and/or learning about ADLs. This project provided a chance to bridge the gap between school and home. It was great to be able to provide hands-on resources for my students and their parents to use at home, even as my students continue to work on their independence. Thank you for making this happen!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Arty

  • Autism: Keeping Things Safe and Clean!

    Funded Sep 23, 2020

Thank you for supporting my students during these uncertain times.

These supplies have made it possible for me to work in a school and keep things clean and safe for my students throughout the day. The hand sanitizing wipes have been very useful at the start and end of every session to keep my students' hands clean. The disinfectant spray/paper towels keep everything sanitized between sessions. The thermometer and air purifier have both been useful during this time.

All of these things are necessary to do and your donation has made it possible, and you have made my job a little easier too. Thank you! Stay safe!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Arty

  • Autism: We're Still Distance Learning!

    Funded Sep 7, 2020

Thank you so much for donating to my project! Even though the project was funded a few months ago, many of my students are STILL distance learning!

These resources have been invaluable, especially as I try to keep my students engaged during our teletherapy sessions. My students' skills vary greatly, where some can only trace, and others can read and write.

Having a variety of materials to work with has been great. This allows me to meet the needs of my students and make our sessions fun and engaging.”

  • Autism Distance Learning: Celebrating Inclusion and Diversity!

    Funded Sep 2, 2020

Thank you so much for your support! Your contributions have made it possible for me to work creatively with my students even though it is through distance learning.

It has been fun exploring different topics and being able to show a variety of cultural influences while doing so. The puppets have been very helpful in engaging my students while learning about community helpers and their jobs. The bilingual flash cards have provided a resource for me to connect with certain students and their families. There are many different things to do with all of the resources.

I have had a great time working with the children and their families, and they have had fun working and learning with me. Thank you so much for making this happen!”

  • Autism: Distance Learning Fun at Home!

    Funded Aug 9, 2020

Thank you so much for providing my students with learning games, books, and activities to motivate them at home during this time of remote learning. These items have been helpful in developing and reinforcing skills learned during our therapy sessions.

My students learn best with hands-on activities, and having these items at home has been a wonderful motivator. The flip books are great for exploring different topics that we are learning about. The games are fun and help my students review colors, numbers, words, and shapes, even as they work on skills like turn-taking and sorting.

    Thank you for your support!”

  • Distance Learning: Keeping Things Organized

    Funded Jul 13, 2020

Thank you so much for your support! During the many months of remote learning, these materials have made it so much easier for me to stay organized, conduct a full day of teletherapy sessions, and complete all the necessary documentation throughout the day.

Now I can keep my files and activities organized and easily accessible. I can type my session notes and reports without putting myself in an awkward or uncomfortable position.

These items have allowed me to be more productive and comfortably positioned while working from home. Thank you for making this happen!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Arty

  • Autism: Distance Learning at Home!

    Funded May 8, 2020

Thank you so much for your support during this ongoing time of distance learning. The materials from this project have made a tremendous difference during my students' tele-therapy sessions over the past several months.

The magnetic dry erase easel is so helpful during our sessions. My students are able to attend to and participate in the activities more easily. The colorful flashcards, various child-friendly picture magnets, and the basic letters, numbers, and shapes, have made learning a lot more fun and enjoyable. Thank you for making this possible!”

  • Autism: Remote Learning Tele-Therapy

    Funded May 14, 2020

Thank you so much for your support with this project! With your donation, all of my students were able to get some of the basic supplies needed to continue with their occupational therapy sessions at home during remote learning.

Providing these resources to the students has relieved some of the burden on the parents, and my students were able to receive supplies appropriate to their specific individual needs. By having these supplies at home, my students had a much easier time participating in their tele-therapy sessions. They were definitely excited to use them. Thank you for making this happen!!”

  • Autism: We Need Worksheets and Activity Pages at Home!

    Funded May 15, 2020

Thank you for supporting my students during this time of distance learning! These resources were a huge help to my students as they transitioned to at-home-learning.

I try to have my students do a lot of hands-on activities during our sessions, including coloring, cutting, gluing, writing, etc. One the the biggest challenges I faced was that most of my students' families did not have printers at home. So even when I e-mailed worksheets and activity pages, they couldn't print them out to do with their children.

This project made that possible! I was able to print all the worksheets, laminate reference pages and activity pages, and create individualized activity folders for all of my students to use at home. What a difference it has made!! Thank you so much!”

  • Autism: Just the Basics

    Funded Jan 4, 2020

Thank you so much for providing some of the basic supplies for my students. They are using these items to explore their environment and be as independent as they can be within the school environment. By providing tools and materials like self-opening scissors and egg-shaped crayons, even the smallest of my students can work on their own. The large magnetic dry erase board is a big hit with the students. It's great for doing so many things, like drawing, writing, and building letters with the magnetic accessories. All of the items have made a huge difference in the lives of my students. Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Arty
