  • Autism: We Need Snacks!

    Funded Oct 18, 2024

Thank you so much for your support! My students are big time snackers and they were all too happy to be able to choose their own snacks!

At times I went from class to class to distribute snacks to the children. On other occasions, the students came to our mobile snack cart to pick up a treat for themselves.

It was fun and exciting to watch them walk away with their little bags of cookies, animal crackers, fruit snacks, chips, etc.

This could not have happened without your generous support. Thank you!”

  • Autism: Lunar New Year 2025!

    Funded Jan 17, 2025

Thank you for helping us celebrate LUNAR NEW YEAR – the year of the Snake!

Everyone in our entire school had a great time participating in this celebration! A large percentage of our students come from an Asian background and it was great to see their excitement as we celebrated with them. Together, all of us enjoyed the music, decorations, customs, and foods associated with this holiday. We made costumes and crafts to display in our parade and made noise with instruments as each class walked by.

We gave out red envelopes and the students received activity booklets, stickers, and coupons from Panda Express to share with their families! Thanks to your generous contributions, we were able to learn about and celebrate Lunar New Year in style!! Thank you for your support!”

  • Autism: Mobile School Store - Financial Literacy

    Funded Oct 3, 2024

Thank you for supporting our mobile school store project! We are so excited to start our school store on wheels...We want to have a place for our students to shop for fun, seasonal, and holiday items. Our students need to learn about the basics of finances and the magnetic play money, calculator cash register, labeled coin banks, and digital coin bank will help us do just that...but in a hands-on, fun, and practical way!

I want my students to identify different coins and bills, sort coins, and use their purchasing power to shop! And every time they buy something, they can hit the "money button" to hear a "ka-ching!" sound!!

Our mobile school store will have labeled bins (thanks to our handy label maker), and the students will be able to see prices on the products for sale. They will "see" their money go into the coin bank jars, and later we will add up all the coins using our digital coin bank!! We're also developing our fine motor skills when we put our coins into the coin slots and when we color the pages in our ABC Finance Coloring Book!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Arty
