  • This 2nd Grade Science Project Is Out Of This World!

    Funded Sep 12, 2013

I would like to thank you very much for your generous donation of the meteorites along with the meteorite poster and the meteorite books for my second grade classroom. Your donation has really helped get my students excited about their upcoming science and Language Arts unit on fossils and prehistoric life.

I introduced the meteorites to my students as part of an introduction to dinosaurs and what might have killed them. The meteorites are helping to bring this unit to life because now my students have been able to hold the meteorites in their hands and examine them closely with their magnifying glasses.

Your donation has given my class wonderful science materials. This has helped to inspire my student's imagination and positively influence many of these students to stay in school and pursue careers in science.”

  • Help 2nd Graders Learn About Lions, Tigers And Bears Oh My!

    Funded Oct 18, 2013

I would like to thank you very much for your generous donation of the set of Zoobooks magazines, a Zoobooks subscription, and the animal drawing books for my second grade classroom. Our school does not have the funds to purchase these supplies, so without your help, my students would not be able to experience and enjoy these wonderful magazines and drawing books.

My students enjoyed looking at the amazing pictures and reading about the different animals in the Zoobooks that you donated. They also loved looking at the drawing books and learning how to draw their favorite animals. The pictures gave them great ideas as they worked hard to draw their favorite animals.

I am very thankful for your generosity. Your donation has helped my students to become excited about what they are learning in school. It has also given them great memories of their time in second grade. Another wonderful benefit of your donation is that my future students will also be able to use and enjoy these wonderful materials.”

  • 2nd Grade Artists Need Supplies To Create Amazing Projects

    Funded Oct 10, 2013

I would like to thank you very much for your generous donation of the class sets of watercolors and oil pastels. My second grade students were able to use the oil pastels to create African snake pictures in an array of vibrant colors to go along with our African literature unit. They used the watercolors to go along with a math lesson on geometric shapes. They were able to use their imagination and creativity to create beautiful watercolor pictures. My students were delighted to use the new art materials and they especially liked all of the color choices.

Your donation has helped inspire my student's imagination. It has also given them great memories of their time in second grade when they had so much fun using oil pastels and watercolors to create amazing works of art. I am also happy because many more students in my future classes will also be able to use these materials and benefit from your generosity.”

  • Help Us Discover The Wonders Of The Microscopic World

    Funded Aug 20, 2013

I would like to thank you very much for your generous donation of the digital microscope and the sets of microscope slides including animal, plant, and insect slides for my second grade classroom. We used the digital microscope and slides of plant parts when we studied about plants in their science books. We have just started a new science unit on animal life cycles and my students have been very excited to see the insect and animal slides.

Your generous donation has been an amazing addition to my classroom. My students have been really amazed to see what things like butterfly wings and rabbit fur look like under a microscope. Most of my students have never seen or used a real microscope before and your donation has opened up a new world of possibilities for them. Every time we use the microscope I make sure to tell them that this microscope is a gift given in honor of a wonderful teacher who taught students just like them for many years.

Your generous donation has given my class a wonderful science tool. This science equipment will ensure that your mother's dedication to education and her ability to positively influence the future generation will continue for many years into the future as it inspires my student's imagination and positively influences many of these students to stay in school and pursue careers in science.”

My students are wonderful second graders. Our school is located in a high poverty immigrant community in California. The parents of most of my students have never finished high school and my students will hopefully be the first ones in their families to go to college. My classroom consists primarily of students who are learning English as a second language. I also mainstream deaf and hard of hearing students and learning disabled students in my all inclusive classroom.
