Organized and Independent for Life!
Funded Jan 5, 2016Dear Donors,
Thank you so much for donating the mail box system to our classroom. My students were so excited when they saw it for the first time. "Wow, what is that?" they asked. I explained all about the new system and how special people like you called donors bought it for them.
The kids loved that they each had their own mailbox. They were so excited to get started. First, I chose two students to be Homework Helpers and their names were added to the Class Job chart. I showed them how to place homework in paper trays one row at a time so that they did not miss anyone. Then I called students table by table to take trays with their name on it to their seat to pack up. It took a little practice but now the pack up routine is a breeze, thanks to you.
Now they can hold on to work that they have done throughout the day without keeping it on their table. The "cluster" teachers have jumped on the routine as well. When I return to the classroom, students have already put away their work from their cluster teachers and are ready to begin the next lesson. Transition time is at an all time low! Many cluster teachers have complimented me on the mailbox system and I was proud to tell them that it was donated by you.
The class is incredibly organized and learning so much! I truly believe that this has laid the foundation for organization in the children's lives as they grow. Thank you so much for your generous donation.”
With gratitude,
Ms. C.
This classroom project was brought to life by Dorothy and 8 other donors.Inspiration Station
Funded Apr 10, 2009Thank you so much for funding our project, Inspiration Station. This Inspiration Station helps the classroom run more efficiently. During shared reading, students can easily see the big book we are reading together. It is much easier to turn the pages with the help of the "page paws" included with the Station. The ability to store all the big books and charts on the Station creates ease of use. No more stopping to gather materials!
My students have found many uses for this Inspiration Station during Center Time. Students often reread big books while making words from the book with magnetic letters by utilizing the sliding magnetic board attached to the Station. Students use the Station to practice their letters and sounds as well as read class charts. We even have our class calendar displayed on the back of the Station. What a space saver!
Thank you again for your generosity. My students and I love the Inspiration Station! It has helped to create a more efficient learning environment for my students. ”
