My fourth graders have such a curiosity of the world that surrounds them and want to learn as much as possible! They have such a positive outlook and have great dreams for their future. Our school is very involved with the community and reaches out to families in need. We are located in a tough neighborhood with violence and gangs where parents cautiously walk thier children to and from school, sometimes in extreme conditions. Our teachers strive to give our students the best opportunities to help students reach their goals. We have bilingual students and students with special needs. To meet these special needs, we are an inclusion school and co-teach with special education teachers. Our school is 97% free or reduced lunch and we have now participate in the "Universal Breakfast" to ensure breakfast for all students. Our school has 3 buildings in addition to 2 mobiles because of our very large population. I love our school and community because of the united feel of a family.
