Funded Aug 12, 2016Dear Donors,
My students are using their new balance balls everyday to help them stay on task and focused during large groups and small group instructions as well as during work time. I have many students who specifically state that sitting on a balance ball helps them focus. Allowing my students to use these balances balls during district testing allowed them an outlet for their nervous energy. I saw increase in test scores and contribute them partially to using the balance balls.
Upon arrival of the balance balls my student went crazy, in a good way. They raced to inflate them manually, used coveted reward points from school to pay for a chance to be the first to sit on a ball, and over all were enthused to get to reading class just to have a chance to sit on our new resource.
While I originally requested ten balance balls for my three twenty-five students classes to share, I will certainly be looking into collecting more as I see the definite benefits. Thank you for your support in their project. The balance balls have helped my fidgety students learn in structured environment unlike they have before.”

Fluid Data Tracking and Organization
Funded Jul 31, 2016Dear Appreciated Donors,
Receiving funding for something as simple as 3 ring binders has changed my student's daily life in my classroom. Instead of juggling two notebooks and a folder meant only for data we have been able to streamline our processes and organization. In years past, loose papers would drift to the ground on a regular basis never to be claimed again. Now every paper has a place in our binders and every paper is in its place. The students are pleased to have a place to look back on all their work.
We have named our generously donated resources our "RAD binders" the acronym RAD stands for "Reading and Data" as that is what we store in our binders. Each binder is divided into six sections for our different reading needs with one devoted specifically to tracking their work. Students have been taking pride in organizing their notes, reading responses, and personal reading data. They have talked about how much they prefer the binders to our old set up.
While these supplies did not illicit jumps of joy my student were excited to set up their binders and look forward to adding each new piece. The thickening of their binders represents the gains they have already made this school year. We so appreciate your support in our academic endeavors!”

Mrs. Lohmar
