We are VR!
Funded Nov 2, 2019I wanted the VR headsets to give the students in the self-contained Autism Spectrum Disorder class a way to interact that they would not normally have the opportunity to do so. Our field trips have become cost prohibitive. In using the VR headset, we are able to engage in virtual field trips that help the students experience concepts that would not have happened before. The headsets have also been instrumental in exploring science concepts. In our school there are not many science materials. By using the VR headsets, the students can explore the scientific world effortlessly.
Thank you for enriching the lives of my students!”

This classroom project was brought to life by An anonymous donor and 4 other donors.Getting "Fired" Up to Read!
Funded Nov 8, 2012Our classroom Kindle Fire has arrived and we put it into service on the same day. The students were very excited to have a new piece of technology to supplement their learning.
The first thing that I did was to download books from the Kindle store that the students chose themselves! They then were able to begin reading ( or have the e-book read to them) from selections that held their interests.
We also added several apps that are designed to increase vocabulary and comprehension skills. One of the students was able to identify new words just from the interaction with the Kindle Fire on the first day!
This is an amazing gift that has made an immediate impact on our classroom.”
