Funded Mar 27, 2018Who knew a light-table would encourage a non-verbal student to say his first words in class?!? The second we introduced the light table and toys, this student lit up with excitement! We allowed them to explore all the materials at their own pace, and this is when we realized our young student was expressing his excitement using words. The very first spoken word we heard was a softly whispered "WOW!" So of course we used the light table every single day after this.
I know this new addition to our classroom will provide endless learning opportunities to our current students as well as all future students!
Thanks again for your generous donation.”

Funded Mar 27, 2018I would like to thank you for donating to my classroom. You made it possible for my students to have a school year filled with endless learning opportunities inside and outside the classroom. The materials purchased with your donation will benefit many future students!
When the materials arrived, I had my students take turns trying to guess what was in the boxes. As we opened them up one by one, their faces just lit up with excitement! Needless to say, we played with all the materials during the entire school day. The students loved the fact that they had new items to play with during outside centers.
I want to thank you again for for you generous donation. You have made it possible for us to provide endless learning opportunities to may underprivileged students in the years to come.”

Funded Dec 18, 2015Thank You all so much for this wonderful gift! When the boxes arrived my students were very curious as to what the contents were. I told them that is was a gift to our classroom from donors and everyone was going to be able to use them. They were so excited!
During circle time we sat down on the rug and opened each box as a group. As we pulled the cube chairs out the students were surprised, excited, and happy all at the same time! One child was naming the colors of each chair while another looked around and said, "Hey we have enough for everyone!"
We have been using the cube chairs at different centers. As one of the pictures demonstrates, we flipped a cube chair and used it as an observation table for our trees. A child picked up some magnifying glasses and sat down in a cube chair to observe the trees. Other students have taken the initiative to set up their own tables using the cube chairs. Its great to see them help each other out!
We will continue to use the cube chairs on a daily basis throughout the school day!”

Play-Doh For Los Angeles Preschool
Funded Sep 15, 2014Opening the delivery box was such an excitement for my students! Some where making predictions as to what could possibly be in the box. As I began to take the boxes of Play-Doh out, the look on my students faces was priceless! "We have new Play-Doh!" one yelled out with excitement. We have been able to include fun, colorful Play-Doh in our sensory center. You won't believe how popular Play-Doh is in our class room! Not a day goes by that my students don't select Play-Doh as an activity.
Thanks to you, our students are able to learn their colors while playing with bright, new Play-Doh. Some students are developing their social skills as they sit and share Play-Doh with others.
Thank you very much for making this project a reality!!!”

Funded Dec 13, 2013As soon as our materials arrived, I was eager to set them out for my students to enjoy! My students don't have much language, but the expression on their faces said it all. As soon as they walked in, they noticed right away that we had new cube chairs, colorful pillows, and an awesome rug. One child started to sing the ABC song as he pointed to the letters on the rug. Another child picked up a book and took it over to a cube chair. Our entire day was used to explore the different things we can do with our new items.
Since then, my students use the cube chairs for different activities. As you can see on the pictures posted, we use the cube chairs in our dramatic play area. One student likes to set up the chairs as a long table and then uses it to set up "lunch." My students also enjoy sitting back as they look at their favorite books. During circle time (music, story time), some of my students use cube chairs instead of the regular chairs. The rug is always being used. My students like to sit on the shapes, name the letters, or simply grab a pillow and relax on it. The colorful pillows have been used during color activities. Some students like to hug pillows as they listen to a story. Other students enjoy laying on a pillow as they look through a book.
The activities and experiences these resources have provided have been endless. Thank you very much for your support! I will for ever be grateful.”

Funded Aug 26, 2013Words cannot express how thankful we are of you! Thank you so much for your generosity and making this project possible!
Thanks to you, my students are expressing their creativity through the wonderful duplo blocks! Students are building "Castles," "Homes" and "Robots" with the blocks. They are communicating their creations with the adults, and learning to share materials and a common work area! The Sit n' Spin has allowed us to practice turn taking and making requests. Our sand and water table was not in stock by the time our project was funded. We were able to order some water toys in place of the sand and water table. Our students enjoy the "Fishing Spell" and "Fishing Numbers" water games! With these games, we are able to practice counting, recognizing letters and numbers, identifying colors, and taking turns. We were also able to order "Shape Shell Turtles" game. The students enjoy putting all turtles in the water, taking their shells off, and then matching the turtles with their shells. We also ordered Crayola Sidewalk Chalk. Our kiddos are very creative when they have the freedom to draw on the ground! The "Shapes and Colors Discovery Set" have offered endless learning opportunities! Our students have enjoyed seeing as the pebbles transform once water is added. They were able to squish red, blue, and yellow pebbles to see what new colors they could create. The Umbrella Bracket Kit has provided great shade to our students as they play in the outdoor sandbox!
Your donation has helped bring great learning materials to our students! We will forever be grateful!”

Funded Dec 2, 2012Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom! Your commitment to helping schools in need of resources and children in communities all around the country is greatly appreciated.
Thanks to you, my students have a welcoming dramatic play area with new community helpers dress-up costumes, a complete nutrition set, and a house cleaning set. Some of the students are learning how to dress themselves as they play using the dress-up costumes. While playing with the nutrition set, some students work on speech development as they pretend to be cooks and waiters, while others work on developing appropriate social skills. All students, no matter what skills they are working on, are having fun as they learn using the materials you helped fund!
Your donation has helped bring the true meaning of dramatic play into our classroom! We will forever be grateful!”
