  • 3D Printing, Electronic Music and Game Design!

    Funded Apr 2, 2025

You are the best! Thank you for contributing to our project and for helping to supply my students with the materials they need to see their work through to the end.

My students are excited for this project to bolster our materials supply and they will begin using them as soon as they arrive.

We count on donations like yours to make sure our students get the best stuff to support their learning. Thanks for making it happen.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Feitelberg

  • Indoor Gardening for the Future!

    Funded Nov 13, 2024

Thank you for contributing to our project Students have already begun to explore the various tools we received for growing food indoors. pH meters, grow lights, mushroom-growing kits...everything is so interesting.

With the help of your donation, my students will start plants from seeds, care for them daily and enjoy the food they grow. We are in a unique classroom with no natural light nor water. This will make our food-growing experience challenging and will require students to come up with creative methods.

From the moment materials arrived, my students have been excited to construct our growing racks and arrange our grow lights. We are discussing the various foods we want to grow, and students are accessing their science learning to make sure we have all the right ingredients. Your donation will directly impact my students' learning and give them the chance to use technology to satisfy their hunger for food and for knowledge.”

  • Materials Refresh for Inspired Technologists!

    Funded May 7, 2024

Thank you for your contributions to our technology class project. With your donations, we were able to purchase a new 3D printer, 3D printer pens and new headphones and computer mice for student use.

My students are already benefiting from these new supplies in both my Math and Technology classes. This semester, students will be designing modules for their own Space Station. Using our mice and 3D printing materials, students will imagine, render and actually print out 3D models. We've also designed and printed custom rings that allowed students to feel successful in their first 3D design adventure.

All of my students are excited for the opportunity to use these materials to expand their abilities in these new technological fields. Thank you, again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Feitelberg

  • Solving Real Problems Through 3-d Design

    Funded Nov 27, 2023

Thank you for your donation to our 3D printing project. Unfortunately our 3D printer broke fairly promptly after setup! Still, DonorsChoose & Amazon will replace the broken printer, and we can get back to solving real-world problems soon.

So far, we've printed a few flexible cats and boats, as well as a red dragon to help our Principal celebrate the Lunar New Year. Once our new printer arrives, students will begin using software to design plans for printing headphone wraps, flexible phone cases and other handy tools.

Even though our broken printer has stalled some interest in our new 3D design, I have no doubt that--once it's up and running again, and we can actually see our designs in-person--students will have unbounded interest in turning their 3D ideas into 3D realities.

Thank you again for your support for this project, and for supporting STEAM learning at our school.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Feitelberg

  • Update our Classroom Library for In-person Learning

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

Thank you for supporting public school students in their endeavors to become critical thinkers and readers. My students love to read, and these novel sets will provide them opportunities to hold discussions about literature and expand their abilities to read, reflect and share.

Especially now, in the midst of the ongoing pandemic, students need chances to connect with each other. By reading and sharing with classmates, my students exchange ideas, challenge their thinking and build relationships.

Without your donations, I would not have ample materials to continue to challenge readers in my classes. Thank you for these rich materials and for your commitment to ensuring all students have quality literature.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Feitelberg

  • Keep 'em Reading, Thinking and Sharing!

    Funded May 28, 2020

Donations like yours are one of the most impactful ways a person can contribute to improvements to public schools like ours. With your support, I have fresh sets of new novels to share with students as they continue high-level literature discussions in an online format.

The novels your donation helped to purchase are all titles from the current Oregon Battle of the Books list. Each story provides students with thought-provoking conflicts that allow them to explore ethics and the responsibilities thrusted upon us as we age. Most feature authors of color and explore contemporary themes about justice, race, progress and the future.

Thank you for your support. Even if we are unable to provide students with in-person learning experiences, we can still provide them with rich literature to keep them reading, thinking and sharing. We truly appreciate your donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Feitelberg

  • Dystopian Novels for Middle School Problem-Solvers

    Funded Mar 8, 2020

Students have already accessed and enjoyed the materials you helped purchase. Especially during the pandemic, students NEED rich literature. With your assistance, my students are able to read contemporary writing that focuses on realistic themes from interesting and complex perspectives.

My students who would have normally used the public library were stranded without books when public services weren't available. Your donation allowed me to deliver books to students and keep them challenged with high-quality stories and characters.

Thank you for your continued support for students. In times like these, literature provides both a way to escape and a way to engage with the world in new ways. We truly appreciate it!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Feitelberg

  • New Novels for Ravenous Readers

    Funded Oct 9, 2019

Our new novel sets have already improved my ability to provide students with challenging and enriching reading material. Small groups of students have already read these books together and held discussions in which they've examined themes, characters and the unique writing styles of the authors.

My mixed-age classes rely on Literature Circles to assign reading and hold discussions in which every group member is tasked with bringing new ideas and making thoughtful connections to the text. These new novels have helped foster a classroom library with many options for contemporary stories that students can relate to. Through their experiences with these novels, students reflect on their own lives and support one another by improving their classmates' comprehension.

Without your donations, I would struggle to provide new and interesting material at the pace my students deserve. Thank you for contributing and for helping to ensure all students are becoming life-long readers.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Feitelberg

  • Electronic Music For All!

    Funded Dec 31, 2017

We cannot thank you enough for your contributions to our DonorsChoose project. Since the arrival of our new instruments, students have spent hours examining them, experimenting with them and teaching each other how they work. Regularly, students ask to borrow equipment and use it in conjunction with other materials we have at our disposal for electronic music production.

We all enjoy electronic music in some form or another. The gift of these materials is impacting my students daily by giving them opportunities to think and feel like real musicians. Students are frequently impressed with their abilities to create music that sounds as sophisticated as the music they hear on the radio and in their headphones.

These materials are particularly helpful for reaching students who otherwise struggle sometimes at school. Electronic music provides not only a creative outlet for these students, but it also gives them a new medium for learning and demonstrating their skills for computing, collaborating and sharing their learning with peers.

Donations like yours help take public education to the next level. With your financial support, teachers like me can provide rich learning experiences that open doors for kids and help them recognize talents that may otherwise go unnoticed in the classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Feitelberg

  • Inspiring Young DJs With Real Electronic Instruments

    Funded Apr 20, 2017

Thank you for contributing to our project, "Inspiring Young DJs With Real Electronic Instruments." The instruments we were able to purchase have already helped us take our music production to the next level with new effects, synths and drum kits. While some students have enjoyed programming the drum pad to work with our production software, others have spent time making beats on the drum sampler. Much of it comes with a big learning curve, but we are eager to learn.

Music instruction is crucial to providing a well-rounded education and for giving students chances to explore our creative sides. Our Electronic Music elective gives us opportunities to learn how to make electronic music and teaches us skills to use technology in a new way. We can collaborate with classmates and people around the world; and with our new gear, the tracks we produce can sound even better and more like what we want them to sound like.

Some students have taken Electronic Music Production 1 a couple times already and we have exhausted the apps used in that class. We are excited to use the new equipment in Electronic Music Production 2, and we're hoping to get even more instruments in another Donors Choose project. Thank you for supporting students through your donation and for helping to make sure the arts are included in our classroom.”

    With gratitude,
