My students are in grades 9 through 12 in a suburban public school. In each class, there are special education students, english as a second language students, regular education students and gifted and talented students. We have a culturally diverse classroom with kids from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. Some students have had the opportunity to take art since elementary school while others are experiencing art for the first time. In my classroom, students learn the basics of sculpture and ceramics in Art I. I also have Sculpture II / III and Ceramics II / III where students learn more complex techniques and work at greater length on art of a larger scale both conceptually and aesthetically.
