The students that I am seeking resources for are 5th through 8th grade identified Gifted students. As of right now they compromise about 2% of our rural district's total student body, of which about 50% come from low income families. Students like this are too often overlooked because they are performing well on tests and are well behaved. Potential is getting wasted. In an effort to change this, my students decided they would like to be involved in projects that will benefit their own learning, but more importantly will benefit others. They are motivated to learn, and they are motivated to become positive leaders in their school and community.
