  • Varied Reads for our Varied Needs!

    My students were so excited to receive the materials that they volunteered to level and organize the library themselves! They unpacked, created a task list of who and what they needed to do to access the library as quickly and efficiently as possible.

    As the students started their book clubs, they were very excited of the varied titles that are now available in our library. They had rich conversations on theme, character development and figurative language. They also asked each other inferential questions that enabled them to have a deeper understanding of the characters journey and plot of the stories.

    They thoroughly enjoyed the books! Thank you donors! Our avid readers were able to have more opportunities to enrich their reading lives as well as hesitant readers who now found the genre that made them more interested in reading books.”

My classroom is full of eager learners who have special education classifications ranging from speech and language impairment, learning disability, emotional disturbance, autism, hearing impairment, intellectual disability and other health impairment (mostly with an ADHD diagnosis). They receive related services (speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and counseling). They greatly benefit from lots of experiential and hands-on activities with tons of visual support to optimize their ability to learn. Their varied learning styles encourages interesting conversations and a love for collaborative work while fostering independence and self discovery. Your generous donation will enable us to continue our journey as learners and provide as with opportunities to learn in different ways.
