First Grade Is All About Flexible Seating!
Funded Dec 9, 2019Thank you for you generous donation! My students eyes light up as they enter the classroom. They are now racing with excitement to learn new things and have flexible seating while doing so. Instead of using hard chair to sit on while learning; my students have a variety of options to choose from now. They have bean bags, wobble chairs, and balance balls. My students are so motivated to learn and so excited to have flexible seating in the classroom. You really made a difference in each and everyone of my students lives. You also changed their perspective on learning in the classroom. Learning is now fun and flexible! Many future student will also be impacted and benefit from your generous donation. Words cannot express my gratitude! Thank you!”

This classroom project was brought to life by PLUS1 and Zedd.Help Me Learn in Pre-K
Funded Oct 30, 2015Words can not express how thankful we are for receiving our wireless headphones and laptop. Having wireless headphones and a laptop to use in our classroom for a portable center is amazing. My students are gaining so much knowledge from having technology at their finger tips. .
They are learning social skills, how to take care of technology, and also subject areas that they are deficient in. Not only are they learning so much but they are also gaining so much experience on how to use technology and different applications/ websites. One thing that my students enjoy is having access to different websites for all subject areas. So no matter what subject we are learning about we can always use the portable laptop center. My students are so excited to engage in the different applications and games that are tailored to their individual level.
My class also loves the fact that the headphones are wireless and they don't have to have a cord connected to the computer to hear. Having a laptop for centers that can be set up just about anywhere in the classroom has been great. I want to share how funding our project has impacted my students on so many levels. Thank you!”

Technology In The Classroom
Funded Oct 17, 2014Upon receiving their I-pads and their headphones my students were so grateful and jovial. We did a Thanksgiving lesson about what we were thankful for. Several students stated they were thankful for their I-Pads and headphones! This brought joy to my heart, because my students truly enjoy learning and working on the I-Pads. We use our I-Pads in whole group to incorporate technology into our learning and we also use our I-pads in small groups. During our small group time students break into groups to work on different objectives that they have not mastered. Having the I-Pads allows for students to work on an individual skill that they need to master. The I-Pads are used for all subjects and all skills. The skill level in my class range from low to high and having the I-Pads let me tailor an individual activity to the need of the student. Having I-Pads at my finger tip lets me as a teacher integrate technology into the learning process and expand the students learning by exposing them to so many new things. It also allows me to give examples for the students to see at that very teachable moment. Our school librarian just mentioned to me the other day that my student's fine motor skills have improved. Thanks to the I-Pads I have also seen improvement in a lot of my students skills such as fine motor, alphabet recognition, and number recognition. My students are so excited about learning and they are learning so many skills while doing so. Not only are they being exposed to so many apps that are tailored to their individual need, but they are also learning how to master working with technology in the process. We are truly grateful for allowing our Pre-Kindergarten class to be exposed to amazing technology that will help us be well prepared for the future. Thank You!”

Technology for Pre-Kindergarten Students
Funded Oct 22, 2013I would like to thank you for donating to my project. Upon receiving the materials (an I-pad, lap top, and a camera) my students were so astatic. They could hardly believe it they kept repeating "Mrs. Abushanab is this really ours." This was so touching to me and confirmed that my students will greatly benefit from having early exposure to technology. As a teacher who loves technology I am able to incorporate the I-pad and lap top into my Reading, Math, Social Studies, Science, and Health lessons and it really keeps them engaged. My students absolutely love using the I-Pad and the lap top for whole group lessons and small group instruction. The variety of applications that are available for Pre- Kindergarten students are endless. You should see their face light up when they are chosen to be the one that gets to model the different activities on the I-pad and on the lap top. They also love to watch various educational videos. My students absolutely enjoy using the camera to take pictures to post on our interactive bulletin board and to capture their memorable moments. The I-pad, lap top, and camera have made my lessons more interesting and hands on. Because I have these tools in my classroom my students are super excited to come in everyday to learn. These materials have made a great difference in the way I teach and make my lessons so much exciting and interactive.
Thank you again from both my students and me.”

Lights, Camera, Action In Pre- Kindergarten
Funded Nov 2, 2012We can not thank you enough for the new carpet and digital camera that you donated to our classroom. My students are so happy to have a nice place to sit during morning circle time and during our center time. It has truly given my students a since of ownership in our classroom. My students also enjoy using the digital camera to capture our most exciting and memorable moments.
Our school is currently facing a budget cut, so without your help, my students would have never had the opportunity to have hands on experiences with a digital camera and to be able to have a new carpet to sit on.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Abushanab
