  • Uniforms for Success

    Funded Dec 8, 2023

I would first like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and generosity. Because of your donation I was able to create a closet of new uniforms and jackets for my students to be able to use. My students were very excited to receive a new jacket for the winter season. Many of my students have very few clothing items and uniforms for school and now we have an option to provide for those in need. I was also able to have uniforms ready for my incoming new students. We have had several students that just arrived here in the U.S with very little. I was able to provide them with a new uniform to start school. This is something that will hold our up our students from starting school. It makes a huge difference when a person new to the country has what they need. It takes a little stress off of them and makes them feel welcome. Again, thank you so much for your donation. We appreciate your kindness.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Robison

  • Help at Home!

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

This funded project allowed me to provide my ESL students with material to use in the classroom and give my students take home material where students had opportunities to continue learning at home. My students were thrilled when they found out that these magazines were theirs to keep. It gave them access they usually don't have at home. They were also able to share the materials with siblings and parents. It was beneficial all around. I appreciate all the donations so I could provide my students with what they needed. I am grateful for each persons generosity.”

  • Building a Better School Community!

    Funded Nov 21, 2019

We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generous donations. It is selfless people like you who truly make a difference. When our project was funded I couldn't believe it. I knew I was asking for a lot but I had to try.

Our school is located in one of the highest poverty areas in our county. Our students lack basic needs at home and I wanted to make sure if they ever needed something, I would have it available. The students would know where to go and who to ask without being embarrassed.

I have been able to provide student with jackets since we are in the Winter season. I have given almost every student toothbrushes and toothpaste. You should have seen the look on their faces! it was priceless! They were so excited. I made sure to do a little mini lesson on how to properly take care of our teeth.

Because of your large donation I was able to have a fully stocked cabinet to continue giving as needed. Hopefully, We can provide all needs until the end of the year! What a blessing.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Robison

  • Bright Smiles for Students!

    Funded Mar 24, 2018

My students and I would like to thank you for your kindness for funding our project. By making a contribution you helped make a child's life better by providing them with supplies to take care of themselves. Many of our students come from Guatemala where dental care is almost nonexistent. With the donations I was able to demonstrate dental care and send those items home. When they received their new toothbrushes and toothpaste the smiles on their faces said it all. They were so appreciative and couldn't wait to use their new toothbrushes at home. Thank you again for your generosity! It will not be forgotten!”

  • Winter Wear

    Funded Nov 26, 2017

I would like to express my gratitude for all you have allowed me to do for my students. Your donations have made it possible to provide jackets to my students during these cold winter months. The project I created was to make sure my students had a jacket when the weather turned cold and you helped me do just that. The jackets came in right before Christmas which was wonderful. They were so excited when I passed them out. The look on their faces made my day and I hope you know what an impact you have made.

The kindness and support you have shown are forever in our hearts! Thank you so very much.”

    With gratitude,

  • Teaching with Tablets

    Funded Nov 8, 2016

I just want to start by saying how grateful I am for your generous donations you have made to myself and my students. We were very excited to receive our tablets in the mail. We have been using the various Apps available in order for my students to become proficient in English. As you are aware, my students first language is not English. We have taken advantage of Apps such as Starfall, ABCya, Brain Pop ESL, and many Apps for learning English. You see the tablets offer an instant illustration and pictures of what they are learning so they are able to put a picture with the words or phrases they are being taught. We have focused on themes throughout the year. For example, weather. We can go on our tablets at PBS kids to sort animals that live in cold or hot weather. We can search pictures illustrating different types of weather. We can also learn weather words by matching it with a picture.

I think the most exciting thing for my students is just having access to a tablet. You see almost every student I have is living in poverty. They sometimes don't have enough food at home much less access to technology. They have really enjoyed using the tablets to make connections with what they are learning. They love playing games that are fun and educational. Such as, starfall and PBS kids.

I have noticed with my younger students that using the tablet for reviewing letter sounds and building words has taught them to become readers. I have 5 year olds who could barely speak or read English at the beginning of the year who are now READING!! It is so rewarding to see how much progress they have made this year from your simple donations! Thank you so much! Your impact has changed the lives of these sweet children and we are forever grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Robison

Each student can benefit greatly by having the world wide web at their fingertips. Their is so much we can do in our classroom with these English language learners and a tablet in each of their hands. With these requested Samsung Galaxy and Amazon Fire tablets they can download apps, read, look at pictures, sing songs, write, practice speaking English, listen to English speakers, and much more. I want them to be able to use the tablets in a small group setting where learning can take place. This technology will also prepare them for what's to come. They will be knowledgeable on how to use tablets and, as they get older it will benefit them in many ways.
