Anti-Bully Movement
Funded Oct 24, 2012On behalf of my colleagues and my 7th grade students, I would like to say thank you for the opportunity to view the bullying movie. I believe the impact it had on my students was a very positive one, causing them to think deeply about the bullying epidemic occuring in our society today. At our junior high school, we have implemented many strategies for our children to deal with bullying issues. Since seeing the bullying movie, they have become more open and willing to discuss the issue with each other and their teachers, drawing more awareness to the problem. The communication allows us all to be able to become more knowledgeable, and in turn the bullying has decreased as students are more in tune to the seriousness of it. The movie touched us all, as we saw what can happen with just a few negative words. The children in the movie were real, just like our students and their peers, making the idea hit home for our children.
Thank you to everyone who made this possible for our students, as they may not have been able to view this movie without your help. I truly believe the bullying movie has changed our students beliefs on the bullying epidemic, and they are now stronger and wiser from it. We hope that this movie in addition to the other measures our school has taken will heighten the awareness and compassion for others our students need. We hope they will exend this compassion to all people, their peers in particular, and hold this attitude throughout their lives. Thank you again!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Cannizzaro
