I teach fourth grade in a self-contained classroom with 23 students in a public school where 60% of the students are eligible for free or reduced lunch program. We have a large Hispanic population, as well as African American and Oriental. My class contains 6 ELL, 2 resource, and 6 leveled reading resource students. Although diversity is what makes our school so wonderful, there is still a need to teach my students the importance of being acceptive to one another's differences.
