My students come from various economic and social backgrounds. Some of the parents work late into the night as their children must do their homework on their own at times. The students also face the challenges of learning in a packed classroom of 33 students, having only one teacher to engage them in learning, and having limited supplies. With constraints such as these, it has made it more difficult to meet the growing needs of my students. Small groups that I meet with every day are up to 10 students which limits the effectiveness of each lesson. Though these challenges are evident, my class is eager to learn and enjoys soaking up new knowledge. Many of the students come in excited about the possibility of learning and growing. This makes the daily challenges less daunting and easier to meet.
