  • Can You See It? Bits and Bobs to Develop Independence

    Funded Mar 28, 2025

Thank you all for your generosity! My students will be excited to receive the notebooks, markers, and art supplies. I am also excited to receive the TV and mount to project our checklists and play calming music throughout the day. Also excited to receive the ink, velcro, & laminating sheets; these materials are setting me up to begin next year w/ everything I need to welcome my new students.

I am humbled that this project was funded so quickly & am excited to share our new resources with my students.”

    With gratitude,

  • You Need to Calm Down!

    Funded Sep 2, 2024

Thank you for your kind donations! We are so excited to have so many quiet, age-appropriate calm-down toys! Thanks to you, my students now have items to calm down visually, kinesthetically, and sensorily.

When the items came in, my students were excited to receive materials to calm down. The new toys became so popular that the calm-down corner became a new center with a waitlist of students who wanted to calm down using the toys.

Months later, my students can independently calm their bodies & minds when they become upset. We are so thankful for your generosity in providing my students with social-emotional support.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Quintana-Marofske

  • Write On!

    Funded Dec 5, 2024

Thank you so much for your generosity in helping us receive writing materials! Since we received the new notebooks, markers, and sticky notes, my students have grown so much in their writing.

Before receiving new materials, their writing stamina was 5-6 minutes daily. Now, with new markers, notebooks, & sticky notes, my students write for 10-15 minutes. Before their new notebooks, my students were drawing simple pictures of 1-2 characters & no setting. Now, my students draw multiple characters, a detailed setting, thought & speech bubbles, & they are writing! Some are labeling their drawings with the beginning letter, while others are extending words to write ending sounds & others are beginning to write letter strings & environmental print!

Thank you for giving my students the tools to be excited to write.”

  • EASELy Learning Cause & Effect

    Funded Sep 21, 2024

Thank you so much for funding our project with such kindness and generosity! As I stated in the project request, play is essential to supporting early childhood students' metacognition. Thanks to your support, my students have magnetic easels and marble runners of different sizes and orientations to support their play and exploration in learning cause and effect, the actions and reactions of physical objects in motion.

In collaboration, my students are using the materials to create intricate runs, offering opportunities for learning and working through problems, various actions & their physical reactions.

Thank you for granting our project & for providing my students with various play-based learning opportunities.”

  • Light It Up - Go Ahead & Light It Up!

    Funded Sep 5, 2024

I want to thank each of you for your generous contributions to our "Light It Up" project. Your support will enable me to create engaging and interactive small group learning centers where my students can explore math, literacy, science, social studies, & concepts through hands-on fine motor activities.

The excitement in their eyes when they see their projects light will be priceless, and it wouldn't have been possible without your kindness and support of public education.

Your commitment to education has not only provided us with the necessary tools but has also inspired my students to think creatively and work collaboratively. We are deeply grateful for your investment in their future and for helping to SPARK a lifelong interest in learning. Thank you once again for making such a meaningful impact!”

  • The WRITE Way: Materials for Writing, Learning & Playing

    Funded Aug 22, 2024

From the bottom of my heart, thank you! Thanks to your generous donations, my students received interactive, fun, and age-appropriate writing materials for small groups and literacy work.

With your support, I was able to take my small groups to the next level, and my students were able to explore writing concepts in play-based lessons! They never even suspected that they were learning. All I kept hearing was "YES!" and "When is it my turn?! "

The visual timers and date stamps have been tremendously helpful in helping my students work on their autonomy and independence. The binders are filled to the brim with student samples, and in a few weeks, students will show their grown-ups their work.

Thank you immensely for funding our project and putting the games and playing into our small groups.”

  • Small Group Science Centers

    Funded Mar 10, 2024

When I wrote out this project, I told you that "small group learning is the 'guts' of an early childhood classroom." With your support, I was able to give my students a science unit that filled them with wonder and spilled some figurative 'guts'.

My students loved this hands-on unit because they were able to use real materials to create chemical reactions. They used the scientific instruments that real scientists use to collect data, and they used their imaginations to write out hypotheses and observations.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your support. Thanks to you, my students were able to dive headfirst into what they thought was a scientist's job, only to learn that they were the scientists all along.”

    With gratitude,

  • It's The Small Things: Manipulatives to Learn Letters & Numbers

    Funded May 8, 2024

With your support, this fall I am able to take my small groups to the next level & explore phonetic awareness & math concepts in play-based lessons during small group learning.

Last week, students began to use the wikki sticks, geoboards, ten-frames, mini building blocks, and suction toys to practice counting, sorting, patterning, & subitizing, during free choice centers. This upcoming week we are going to have small group lessons to asses each students knowledge and I am so excited!

My students think they are "playing," but thanks to your generosity, they are using play to to learn early childhood math & phonics.”

  • Mad Science for Pre-K STEM Learning!

    Funded Nov 9, 2023

Thank you so much for your kind donations! Thanks to you, the impact of home-to-school learning will skyrocket. This year, my students are extraordinary scientists, always asking "why," "how," and "why" again.

Your contribution to our STEAM packets will allow my students to experience experiential learning to make these connections permanent. I could show my students how to do something or I can teach them with materials they're excited about and let them try it for themselves.

The hallmark of an excellent education is when students create those 'AHA!" moments independently. The best of these experiences come from play, and the materials you have graciously helped us fund are helping my students make 'AHA!" moments with age-appropriate play.”

  • Bits and Bobs For the New Year

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

Thank you so much for helping fund our project! A classroom is much more than paper and crayons; it includes everything that makes it functional, like a projector, wipes, moping supplies, etc.

With your support, we can keep our room clean, organized, and safe for all my students.

Receiving the materials has made a world of difference in the function of the classroom. My students can move independently and navigate their learning in an environment conducive to helping them learn.

The materials have also helped with social-emotional regulation as the materials needed to solve problems or calm an unhappy friend are now easy to reach.

Thank you for the world of difference you have made!”

My students come from different backgrounds; they are from various multi-ethnic backgrounds, they are free/reduced lunch recipients, and we learn in a blended (SpEd & GenEd) and bilingual classroom. They are smart and they know it! They are the smartest pre-schoolers in the city. They are precocious and keep me accountable for teaching them everyday!
