  • STEM and 3D Printing through the Lyda Hill Innovation Challenge!

    Funded Mar 17, 2021

Thank you so much for the generous donation of the 3D Printer and printer filament! I am very grateful to you for your willingnes to support me in engaging my students through science technology. I am so excited to begin using this equipment with my students! We have learned in science about all the future applications for 3D printing, so the students will be overjoyed to see one in action. I look forward to sharing this STEM equipment with my students for many years to come, as well as with my STEM Club kids. STEM careers are the way of the future, and I am thrilled to share this with my students and get them excited abou STEM careers themselves. Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Barlow

  • The Forgotten Girl Will Be Forgotten No More!

    Funded Oct 22, 2020

Thank you so much for helping me to purchase this book for my classroom. This book combines the genre of mystery, with the real life subject of segregation that happened in the south. This is a fantastic way for me to teach my students about how important getting an education is for all students, and that racial equity is vital!

I love this book, and the message that it provides. I know that my students will also enjoy reading and discussing it. I can't wait to begin having a book club with my students. I know that they will have a lot of questions about segregation and racial equality, and this will be a great way to have that dialog with my students.

Thanks again for your generosity and thoughtfulness!”

  • An Uplifting and Inspiring Historical Fiction Book Is Needed!

    Funded Sep 30, 2020

Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom through DonorsChoose. This gift will help increase literacy skills, through a very engaging and uplifting story. I love this book, and can't wait to begin reading it with my students!

It is important for 6th grade students to read different genres of writing. I am very excited to have a historical fiction book added to our class library, with enough copies for each student to follow along! This book is truly inspirational, and I know that the once we complete it it will ignite the desire for my students to read the second book in this series as well! I am grateful for the opportunity to introduce them to this type of genre, and I know it will open the door for them to want to read more historical fiction on their own.

Thank you so much for your generosity!”

  • Help Students Learn About Racial Injustices in the World

    Funded Sep 29, 2020

Thank you so much for helping our class by making a donation to Donors choose. This book will be life changing for many of my students! They will learn about real life situations of racial inequality and injustices, and why it is so important to help the world make changes.

This book is phenomenal for teaching students about why education is important for ALL people. In Africa, many girls are still not able to attend school. We have many luxuries and benefits from a free education in the United States. I want my students to appreciate the gift of an education, and this book will demonstrate that need.

This book follows two people on their true journey in life in a remote village in Africa, where there is no water and no free education. The two people must endure many hardships, and life altering events, all due to racial injustices. It is eye opening, and will crete a perfect platform for discussion about world issues. Thank you again for your generosity!”

    Funded Sep 26, 2020

Thank you so much for sponsoring my class with the purchase of this book. "I am Malala" is an amazing book that is full of inspiration and hope. It is a fantastic tool to teach diversity, inclusion, and the need for education for all students. I can't wait to begin reading it with my class!

This book will help increase the literacy in my class, as well as teach diversity. I love reading, and I know there can be great power in a book to teach young minds. This book will enlighten, and enrich the lives of many years of students to come.

Thank you again for your kindness, and generosity!”

  • Our 6th Grade Needs Books!

    Funded Sep 17, 2020

Thank you so much for your kindness in giving me donations to help my class purchase book etss. This will make a huge impact on increasing the literacy rate of my students. I have many students who are below grade level this year in reading. The books that I was just granted through your generosity, will help to facilitate fluency and comprehension development among all the students, especiallly the low readers.

This year I am thrilled to have a class full of voracious readers! They love reading, and the Book Club has been a huge success. I am looking forward to enjoying these sets of books with my students for many years to come.

Thanks again for your thoughtfulness and generosity!”

These materials will be used to enhance the remote learning during Covid-19. Students need to be able to read at home, to prepare for in-class instruction. The remote reading will facilitate DBQ's, and whole and small group literature circles in the classroom on the in-person instructional days. I am new to teaching rotations, and I do not have enough materials to provide for 75 6th Grade students. I want to provide different genres of literature to enhance the comprehension of my students through diversified reading. We will utilize these books to compare, contrast and discuss the plots in detail. I am in need of books in the genre of Mystery, Historical Fiction and Realistic Fiction. I am grateful for any help I can receive!
