Math Mania Learning Stations
Funded Aug 13, 2023Thank you so much for the Math materials. My students and I have been using them everyday since they arrived. The kids were so excited about the STEM materials that they begged to play with them during indoor recess!
We use the materials during our math centers each week. The kids love getting to design and build objects. Their favorite one is the straw connectors. There was even a little competition to see which group could build the tallest "building" without it falling! They absolutely love being creative with the items, and I love how it is making them think deeper.
Working well in groups is a big goal in first grade. Not only do they need to share, take turns, and be kind to others in the group, but they are also learning how to contribute their ideas in a respectful way. The items from this project have helped me give them ample opportunities to practice this skill. They have come a long way since we started using these items in our Math centers.

Funded Nov 5, 2022My students are using the materials donated by you on a daily basis! They love using floor desks during our literacy center rotations. The phonics flash cards and wooden decoding blocks have become a couple of their favorites! We have enjoyed reading our new books and using them to practice comprehension skills and writing skills. On Fridays, we have Flashlight Fridays where the kids choose a book and read by the flashlights purchased as part of this project. This is a hit!
I have used the chart paper to display our weekly phonics skills and our weekly sight words. I love having an area dedicated to our weekly skills. The most helpful of all is the plastic storage bags with hooks and the metal hanging rack! My students take home their decodable readers in their "book baggie" every evening and when they return the next day, they hang their baggie on the metal rack. The entire process is organized and keeps the books in good condition!

Funded Feb 7, 2022Thank you so much for the Phonemic Awareness materials! My first graders were so excited to have something new and fun to do during our Literacy Rotation time. We have used the items about 3-4 times a week and they love them! Their favorite time of the day is when we do Literacy Rotations, so these materials are the highlight of those days. The Listen & Learn Activity Program is much better than I expected! They get to work individually on their cards, while still in a group setting. The Instant Learning Centers are easy to set up and explain. I can easily walk around and tell who needs a little help and who has mastered that concept. Their favorite, by far, is the Phonemic Awareness Boxes. I received the beginning sounds, ending sounds, and rhyming sounds boxes and they get extremely excited when they get to sort miniature figures into the correct category. I love having so many options to make their learning fun and exciting. Thank you again for investing in my students' educational success!”

Funded Jan 18, 2013Thank you so much for donating to my project. We are extremely grateful! We have used the white boards and markers weekly since we received them. Reviewing for testing has never been so much fun! We have used these supplies in all subject areas to review concepts as well as practice new concepts. They are a wonderful way to learn while having a little fun! I have many more lessons planned for the upcoming years using these boards. I wouldn't be able to do that if it wasn't for your generous donations! Again, I sincerely thank you for helping make learning fun in my classroom!”

Read, Read, Read!!
Funded Dec 11, 2012Thank you so much for donating to my project, Read, Read, Read! We are extremely grateful for your generosity. The excitement in my classroom when the books arrived was contagious! My students were so happy to have a full set of brand new books with no ripped or missing pages. When we started reading the book, my students were conscientious of how they treated the books knowing that these books would be used for many years to come. There are so many wonderful skills and life lessons included in The Kid in the Red Jacket and I am excited to continue using this novel each year in my classroom. My students and I sincerely appreciate your help!”
