It's a Fine, Fine Day for Fine Motor Fun
Funded Aug 15, 2024Our classroom is a-buzz with excitement! All of our materials have arrived and the students have decorated the covers of their fine motor journals. They were thrilled to use the bright markers to create beautiful pictures.
We've begun to discuss vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines- the basic line types for so many letters and numbers. (Curves will come later.) With an abundance washi tape, gel pens, highlighters and colored paper, the studnets will have multiple opportunities to practice these line types. This practice will provide the crucial foundation for letter formation.
The students' enthusiasm feeds mine and I find myself eagerly anticipating each lesson. Thank you so much for equipping our classroom to make the most of opportunities for fine motor growth.”

Funded Nov 8, 2023Our new items have been arriving all week and the children are so excited. We have already enjoyed time putting the career puzzles together, talking about different jobs people do and the fact that these jobs are perfect for both men and women. The Perfection game is an absolute HIT with children enjoying racing the timer to get all of the pieces into the puzzle before time runs out.
We had to select a few replacement items for out of stock materials and the baby snugglies are proving to be wonderful substitutions. Our dolls have been carried gently and lovingly, even while children are playing with the stacking puzzle or our new star manipulatives.
Thank you for enriching our classroom. The children are engaged and curious. The materials are prompting conversations with rich vocabulary. We appreciate your generosity.”

Funded Aug 11, 2023What a great time the children had making their "face plates" to hang in our classroom. This is always a favorite display in our room and will stay up all year as a symbol of our classroom family. The children enjoy pointing out their faces to parents and other visitors throughout the school year.
The crayons and markers will be used time and again as children express themselves creatively. Children are natural artists and I look forward to seeing all that they will create. Thank you for providing these essential materials”

Funded Aug 3, 2023Ask anyone who knows me- I am rarely without words. But I find myself feeling quietly touched and grateful for the materials in this project, acquired because of your generosity. Each item has been met with such excitement and enthusiasm. The children absolutely love their STEM center with the perfectly sized chairs, the colorful and informative books, the rotating bookcase that is just their height, the honeybee rug and, of course, the tent swing (a wonderful place to relax and learn at the same time). One of the books proved ideal for teaching the children about honeybee jobs and introducing our classroom jobs. The games are on the shelf to be brought out in September when the children have adjusted to the routine and are ready for more advanced play.
And the best part? These materials will impact students for many years. Thank you so much.”

Funded Mar 17, 2023I wish each of you could have heard the excitement when my students were using the hand mirrors to form sounds and words. They were so focused on getting it right and so very proud when they accomplished it!
Thank you for giving beautiful books that allow my students to see themselves. They listened with interest to each story. Thank you for giving them tools to learn the incredibly complex language that is English. Thank you for investing in them! The difference you make in these precious lives is immeasurable.”

Winter Wonders
Funded Nov 28, 2022Winter is coming to an end and what a delightful time we have had learning about this magical Season. The children loved making their sock snowmen and each one reflected the unique personality of its maker.
We had a wonderful time decorating gingerbread houses with families. When they visited, parents were excited to see the snowmen and the "Cute as a Button" trees their children had made.
Thank you for providing the students with the materials needed to make these keepsakes while learning about Winter.”

Kids Get Stressed, Too
Funded Aug 10, 2022You can imagine the excitement when the boxes arrived! We are in the early days of school and daily at least one child expresses sadness over missing mommy, having to share a toy and other perhaps unfamiliar experiences that school brings. Our quiet corner is already a favorite place and will now be even more appealing with our sequins pillow, fidget toys and snuggly hedgehog taggie. Social-emotional lessons are a big part of PreK and children who learn self-regulation are better equipped for the future.
Thank you so very much for contributing to this learning. You make a difference in the lives of others.”

Funded Mar 1, 2022We have had our materials for less than a week and I already see a big difference in my students' attention during circle time! Sitting on the wiggle cushions is a privelege they all desire so they make sure to use the cushions appropriately and focus on the lesson. My students who have an especially difficult time benefit greatly from being able to wiggle without distracting others.
The light table is also a hit! I sat with a group of children this morning and we experimented with color mixing using some transluscent plastic shapes and letters. The students involved are at different levels: from one who is still learning the names of shapes and letters to one who is working on letter sounds and several in between. The activity flowed naturally with each student working at his own level.
Thank you so much for enriching my classroom and supporting my students. The impact is already evident!”

Funded Jan 14, 2021In a few weeks, I will deliver another set of materials to my 26 students, allowing them to participate fully in whole group and small group lessons. These supplies will include the items you have so generously provided.
Students will learn about our five senses through taste tests, making a sensory bottle, creating a musical instrument, practicing letters and numbers with a scratch and sniff activity and making a touch book. Additionally, they will plant beans, conduct measurement experiments and graph jelly beans.
The materials you have provided will allow for hands-on learning, which is much more effective with preschool children. Thank you for the impact you have on my students.”

Fabulous Fine Motor Fun!
Funded Nov 17, 2020Your generosity enabled my students to create wonderful momentos as well as complete lesson-related activities. Additionally, the materials will be used in the coming months as we continue to learn and grow!
I have ornaments I made in my childhood as well as those my own children made. These are treasured keepsakes which bring warm memories. Thanks to you, my students and their families are able to enjoy decorations they made. As a bonus, skills such as following directions, fine motor skills, patterns, rhyming, colors, sequencing and more were practiced.
Thank you for supporting my students. You make a difference.”
